Microzed 7210 JTAG PRAGMING ERROR

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

I ordered new Microzed 7210.When I tried program fpga of microzed 7210 by using Xilinx platform Cable USB 2 and Xilinx SDK , I got the error message which is program FPGA failed Reason: Could not find FPGA device on the board for connection 'Local'. I used to microzed 7220 , it works fine.

Is something wrong about the new Microzed 7210 ?

The MicroZed 7010 and 7020 boards have identical JTAG circuits. You mention 7210 and 7220, but I'm assuming you meant 7010 and 7020. Do you see any LEDs turn on with the 7010?

Thanks a lot for your reply
I am sorry, I mentioned about 7010 and 7020. When I connect to uart cable , green and red led switch on . After I program FPGA by using jtag , the blue led is supposed to turn on. In my case , it is not. The jumper connections are suitable for Cascaded JTAG mode. I used SD card to boot microzed 7010. It works. I think JTAG of the new Microzed 7010 is broken,
How can be check whether it is broken or not ?

    Hello Gokhan,

If you are trying to load the same bitstream on the MicroZed 7010 via JTAG as the MicroZed 7020 that could be the issue. You need to have a bitstream generated for the MicroZed 7010.

If that is not the issue you can see if you are able to connect to the MicroZed 7010 JTAG by using the XMD Console in the SDK. Once you have started the SDK, and powered your MicroZed and connected the JTAG adaptor, type "connect arm hw" in the XMD Console. If your connection is successful then your MicroZed 7010 JTAG interface is functioning.

If it fails please verify your setup with the MicroZed 7020. If it passes then you probably have a damaged MicroZed 7010 and you should request an RMA from the place you purchased the board.

    -Gary
