Digilent JTAG connected to Microzed JTAG pin

Currently I'm using to program the Microzed board using a Digilent JTAGSMT2 (https://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,395,1053&Prod=JTAG-SMT2).

I can't find the Jtag device in my Vivado Hardware Manager. Anyone did experience this issue.

Or microzed board can only work in Jtag-HS2 as suggested by the forum.
But if you look at the zynq board dev 7020, they are using JTAG-SMT2.

The MicroZed JTAG interface is not limited to the JTAG-HS2 module. You should be able to use a Xilinx JTAG Cable, the JTAG-HS3, or any Xilinx compatible JTAG module designed to connect to the JTAG connector/interface on the MicroZed.

The JTAGSMT2 you reference is an SMT mountable board that is designed to be permanently attached to a board that is designed to receive it, so I am not sure I understand how you are connecting it to the JTAG connector on your MicroZed board. There may be signal integrity issues if this module is not mounted onto a board.

    Hi Gary,

I created a carrier board for microzed board. Instead of using Jtag-hs2 interface in my jtag port, i mounted directly a jtagsmt2.
But I can't found my JTAG device in Vivade Hardware Manager.

    Hi bryanwizard,

Did you use the ZC702 or ZedBoard JTAG-SMT2 connections as the reference for your carrier design?

You probably have double checked all of the JTAG connections already.  Have you checked the other required connections within the MicroZed Carrier Design Guide?

In particular, I am thinking that the External System Reset (CARRIER_SRST#) and External Power-on-Reset (PG_MODULE) would be worth taking a look at.

    Regards,

    -Kevin

    checked all the connections.

Yes my reference design is the zedboard.
If you look at the schematic its like a straight forward connection between JTAGSMT2 and the FPGA.

I dont know why I cant able to see the DIGILENT JTAG.
But I can found it in my Zedboard board.

Do I need to put a level shifter on TMS/TCK pin?

Does the vivado 14.4 board definition files include this JTAGSMT2 or the mapping is it really correct?
