Zynq Release images work for Microzed board?

Hi All,

The release images which Xilinx provides, will that boot for microzed board also? or only Zed board?

I have a microzed board in which I am using Avnet pulsar linux distribution. I am not able to add any changes to its kernel as it is Yocto distribution.
Please tell me where can I use a linux source to add changes and boot it properly like how we do for a Zynq ZC706/702 board..

Hello shyamthella,
When you say released images are you refering to the petalinux release that they offer for the Zedboard? if yes, then to answer the question, no it will not work with your MicroZed.
However, if your goal is to use Petalinux on your MicroZed, then please download the Petalinux Board Support Package of your choosing and follow the directions that come with it. http://zedboard.org/support/design/1519/10

Hi Foster,
My requirement is to have a kernel source which boots on microzed so that I will add a module, built it with that kernel version & insert in in microzed.
The module does nothing except creating a devnod and read write operations which I use to read some peripheral.
As per your reply I found some open source linux images in following link. I found that the kernel version is 3.17 and read me says this uses 14.4 Zynq releases.

Now my question is where can I get an open source kernel code which I can compile and boot on microzed. DOn't say pulsar linux because that is Yocto distribution and I am not able to modify its kernel source as it fetches from remote repo every time.

You could try going through the Implementing Linux on the Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC SpeedWay Training

The only disadvantage of that training is that is was done using ISE 14.2 and not Vivado.
