Microzed SBC dosent power up in jtag mode

Hello,

I have recently purcased Microzed SBC 7020, I am new to Zynq, I am trying hello world application using vivado 15.2, on the software side everything is OK, but with I connected my Microzed SBC in JTAG mode ( i.e JP1, JP2, JP3 pins 1 and 2 are shot) and after connecting microusb cable the board doesnt power up,

When i disconnect the jumper pins and put microzed sbc in qspi mode or sdcard mode the board powers up.

What should i do?

Hello shahbaaz,
What do you mean it doesn't power up? Are you refering to the Blue LED not enumerating? If that is the case the board is most likely powering up properly. However you are not programming an image into the PL.
The reason you must program an image is that JTAG boot is done using volatile memory. While SD Card and QSPI boot use non volatile memory.

Hello Josh,
By power up I mean that the GOOD POWER Led D5 on board doesn't turn on in JTAG mode, but in QSPi or Microsd boot mode it turns on. i also happen to notice the Board dosent even boot from Microsd card after loading linux into it as per tutorial.

I have uploaded the image below the good power led D5 is not ON though the power cable is connected.
Is there an issue with the board?

Hello,
Did you make sure to load the Zynq 7020 image on the sd card?
Try a different USB port, my thoughts are the USB port you are currenlt using may not be able to produce enought power. Also please respost your image(you shoud be able to copy and paste images if you use firefox)

Hello josh,
There is only one usb otg port available on microzed sbc 7020-I-G.
I happen to notice that there are resistors connected on JT3 and JT5 on back side of board, i removed these resistors and voila, the board is powered up with led D5 illuminated and the LED D3 is on, but i am not able to program the board using JTAG hs3 connected on J3, from SDK when I program FPGA, it gives me error stating:- Connection to board failed, cable is not powered up.
