Considering the MiniZed for a commercial product

Is the MiniZed intended as just an evaluation platform or is it intended to be a SoM for integration into commercial products? If this is intended as a SoM, what is the planned design life?

Yep it is a development platform, but really for showcasing the single-core Zynq 7Z007S SOC. You could prototype with the MiniZed, and if it works out that it will suit your design needs, you could create your own board based on the single-core Zynq 7Z007S and any other peripheral you need for you application. That is unless you intend to spin an ASIC, in which case the Zynq 7Z007S would not necessarily be needed in the final product.
