Power Budget for 7010 or 7015

Hi,

I am designing a carrier for PicoZed either 7010 or 7015. The 7015 has just one of the transceivers in use. The question is what is the likely current consumption from the 5v supply. I know it is design dependent but some typical values would help. Also the current consumption for the extra power supplies related to transceivers 1.0v and 1.2v.

As an aside why not power the transceivers on the module itself in the case of the 7015.

The PicoZed carrier design guide, mentions a 'Hardware Users Guide' but I can't find it or the XPE file.

The transceiver power is not on the module for size/cost/flexibility. Some end users may not plan to use the transceivers and would not need to implement the MGT rails.

The Hardware Users Guide is in review and will be posted soon.

We may post some typical power numbers in the future but it is very design dependent and will have to wait for specific application examples. In the mean time you may want to download the XPE tool and estimate your implementation: http://www.xilinx.com/products/design_tools/logic_design/xpe.htm
