Are STEP or IGES files available for import into a CAE/CAD system for the mechanical design of an embedded system using the PicoZedSDR?
We're working on getting STEP files that we can post.
Meanwhile, the PicoZed SDR Z7035/AD9361 User Guide has the SOM dimensions in X and Y and we'll get the Z (vertical) height added soon.
I'll respond back to this thread when we have the STEP files posted.
Thanks

Any update on getting these STEP files? We're trying to do some mechanical packaging and carrier card work and could really use these.
Just posted it to the docs page. http://picozed.org/support/documentation/10511
Thanks for the reminder Scott!

Did the link go down? I cannot download the step file.
There was an error in the STEP file we had posted. We are correcting the error and hope to have an update posted next week.
Thanks,
Matt
Are you planning on improving the dimensional information in the user guide? When doing a board layout I prefer to have the Center of Pin 1 as the reference point, but as long as you dimension out something that can be referenced on a PCB that works. As the user guide stands know you dimension out the center of the long axis, then the center of some horizontal portion that I cannot easily translate to a PCB layout.
If you enlarged Figure 22, and placed dimensions on the connector locations referenced the connector PCB land-pattern that would be 1000x's better than what you have posted now.
Yes, thanks to yours and other's feedback, we're working on an update to make the dimensioning more clear.
We're targeting an update next week.
Thanks,
Matt
Can anyone offer some progress on this? We are waiting to spin our new board based on this information.
Hello Benjamin,
We hope to have the CAD files available and posted Friday of this week.
Until then I have posted a pdf with the connector dimensions on the PicoZed SDR SOM documents page:

We may be able to get an Allegro .brd file of the bottom layer tomorrow as well if that will help. I will post that file as well when we receive it.

Gary,
Thanks for the information on the PicoZed connector spacing. Can we use these same dimensions for the mating connectors on our custom carrier card? If not, is it possible to get a similar drawing or CAD file for the carrier card that is shipped with the development kit?
Thanks,
Kiel
