creating an autologin for the zedboard

Hello everyone,

i'm trying to create an autologin on linux linaro at the zedboard. When i am going to start the zedboard and connect it via serial to my pc, automatically the user root will be logged in. For my project, i am using another user. I tried to change the autologin in /etc/init/tty1.conf but nothing changed. Furthermore it should be possible to login as root via ssh.

Maybe anyone can help me?

Hi Christian,

I have not done this in a long time, but it should be possible.

I assume that you are aware of the security implications of leaving a serial port open and logged in with root access and that you are okay with that level of exposure for your application.

Can you elaborate on which version of Linaro you are using?

Have you looked into modifying the /etc/inittab file?
