It seems to have installed a bunch of Vitis components as well but I don't know if it will be ok for doing the courses. Do I uninstall and re-install? Or is

RE: Vitis vs Vivado install

Okay, so a bit more context here and so I'm updating this to the correct answer...

The answer is start Vivado then select Help->Add Design Tools this will bring up the installer with everything checked (things that are already installed will have grey checks, new things will be black checks, uncheck the things that you still don't want and then select Next. The tool will then install the additional tools required (in this case Vitis 2021).

How I got there:

Since I was going to re-install anyway I thought I'd try first to "install over" and restarted the web installer. Filled out the various fields and then when it got to the location it gave and error that said "Xilinx tools are already installed in C:\Xilinx" to install a new version, uninstall these tools first, to add design tools to an existing install use Help->Add Design Tools from the Vivado application"

Since that seemed easier I did that and voila I've got everything needed for Week 3 and 4.

--Chuck

RE: Vitis vs Vivado install

Sigh.
