Debugging multiprocessors with XMD

Hi, I'm building a multiprocessor system (cortex + microblaze). Then I need to debug both processors's code. I've tried to do this with XMD but every time I try to step on the cortex's instructions, the jtag connection is lost. Does anybody have an idea of where the problem comes from?
