Driving a image sensor via FMC connector

Hi everybody,

I have add a quad Spi to my PL, and i have done the necessary connection using a VDMA and VTC based on the tutto " build a hardware design from scratch part add a video frame buffer".
Also I have assigned all my signals to the FMC connector using (.xdc file on vivado).

Now i want to know what is the next step that i have to follow in order to configure the register of the image sensor.


PS : this is my first experience in hardward designing.

    Anisse,

    Based on the description of your hardware design, it sounds like your image sensor needs to be configured via SPI.

    If this is the case, then you need to write C code to configure your image sensor.  Refer to your image sensor's datasheet to determine which registers need to be configured for your use case.

    In standalone (without operating system), you can use the Xilinx SPI device driver to perform this configuration.

    In linux, you will first need to configure your device tree to enable the kernel driver for the SPI controller.

    I do not have any code examples to provide, since the video designs typically use I2C (instead of SPI) to configure external peripherals.

    HI Mario,

    Thank you for your feedback, Yes exactly my image sensor need to be configure via SPI.
    Did you have some tuttos or website that i can write my code C in SDK because there is many new functions that i ignore their utilities.
    thank you for your feddback.
    Ps : I m working on ( vivado version 2015.3 on Operation system "windows").
