Memory Address & Size in Avent ZUB1CG Boards

ABHIRAO12 over 2 years ago

I am trying to get the VxWorks image on U boot for the ZUB1CG board, but I am getting the below error again and again.
Unknown exception
Exception Syndrome Register(ESR): 0x02000000
Exception Address: 0xffffffff802a8218
Process State Register(PSTATE): 0x00000044
Task: 0xffffffff80997000 "tRootTask"
0xffffffff80997000 (tRootTask): task 0xffffffff80997000 has had a failure and has been stopped.
0xffffffff80997000 (tRootTask): The task has been terminated because it triggered an exception that raised signal 4.

I am sure that there is some issue with the memory component of the kernel file, as I do not have the correct address and size. Please let me know these two things.

\sh memory

The memory node describes the physical memory layout for the system. The
Ranges are specified in the <reg> property.

This node must specify the below properties:

\is

\i <reg>
This property consists of address and size pairs that specify the physical
address and size of the memory ranges.

\i <device_type>
This property describes the device type. It must be "memory.".
\ie

An example of the device node is shown below:

\cs
memory
    {
    device_type = "memory";
    reg = <0x0 0x00000000 0x0 0x78000000>;
    };
\ce
I need Similar for ZUB1CG Board.

    The way I would approach this is to generate a Petalinux image from your Vivado export and see what it has.  Barring that, just calculate the upper bound based upon how much memory is on that particular board.

    The value you have in your example is the architectural max (2GB) for the low DDR range for the chip.  If your board has more than 2GB of physical DDR, then there should be another entry starting at 0x0008_0000_0000.

    A quick look at the Avnet marketing info for that board, I see it has only 1GB of DDR so the size (0x78000000) should be only 1GB instead of 2.  I'll let you do the hex arithmetic.
