Hi there, is there any plan to release an Azure Sphere Starter Kit v3 or is Azure Sphere development completely discontinued?

I've bought a couple of BLE MOD's for the AVNET Azure Sphere Developemnt Baord V2. I need to programm the BLE MOD, the Laird documentation tell me I need at least RTS, TXD, RXD, CTS, and RTD exposed. I don't see a USB/TTL programmer that actually exposes all of those, any suggestions?

Azure Sphere Board interrupt

Hi.

I am trying to create a program for GPIO interrupt. Seems the High-level application code will not support IRQ. So I created a Real-time applicable application. When I try to run the HelloWorld example code(https://github.com/Azure/azure-sphere-samples/tree/main/Samples/HelloWorld/HelloWorld_RTApp_MT3620_BareMetal), I got an error saying "libusb_open() failed with LIBUSB_ERROR_NOT_FOUND". Is this error because I didn't connect an usb-to-serial adaptor or I don't install the software LIBUSB? Is it possible debug the real-time applicable application code without the usb-to-serial adaptor? Thanks.

I am new to this field. I saw an example of read and write 8-bit register using I2C. How to read and write a 16-bit address register?

Example: the register address is 0x0158, how to use I2CMaster_Read to read the value

Example: the register address is 0x0158, and I want to write 0x01 to this register. How to use I2CMaster_Write to change the value.

Azure Sphere Starter Kit (Rev2) - what is the 5V 3V3 power budget/limit that a Click1 or Click2 module may draw? Goes to "at what load do Click modules have to supply their own power source and voltage regulators" so as not to overload the supplies on the MT3620 motherboard?

Need to use <vector> in Azure Sphere high-level app. Can't add with #include <vector>, which is a bit of a surprise, I now think that this is related to managed versus unmanaged in VS. Anyone a suggestion how to use configure VS correctly or how I can use <vector> in high-level app.

PWM on GPIO Azure Sphere

HI,

I need a PWM signal on one of the GPIO's for an Azure Sphere project. Obviously tested and played with the code from the examples repos, that works, but I didn't get it to work with a GPIO providng a PWM signal. Is there any example for a High-Level App on Azure Sphere providing a PWM signal on a GPIO. What it needs to do is regulating the speed of a fan, obviously with an additional output transistor on the GPIO.

Azure sphere wait until a function work is complete

I use Azure starter kit Rev2 board and I am using the External MCU update program. I have mixed both Azure IOT and External MCU program.
There's a function "ProgramImages(images, imageCount, &DfuTerminationHandler); " in External MCU . I want this function to complete before moving on to next step.
I have some Event handlers which works in between and interfere with the above function "ProgramImages(images, imageCount, &DfuTerminationHandler); " and will not work properly.
Want can I do in this situation. If I comment the Event Handlers , then the above function will work perfectly. How to solve this issue?

How the module interface with the dev computer works?

Since the module is having 4 types of wired interfaces with the development computer via the FT4232H chip, which interface is using it for flashing the module when I click on the PC software and how can I know that/change it?

I have an account and a starter kit that prototyped the project over a year ago. Since the evaluation period has passed, the environment on the cloud was once deleted. With the increased version of the SDK, it's easier to do what I wanted to achieve, so I'm trying to resume development.

Is there a way to know the tenant name associated with the starter kit used for development?

Is there a way to rebuild the tenant on the cloud?

Azure Sphere Tenant not Found

Hi friends,

Me and my sister had bought Avnet Azure Sphere devices; one for each. We were successful in setting up tenants (from our personal accounts) and claiming the devices. We were able to run a simple blink sketch on the Az sphere. Then we both became busy and forgot our Az spheres. Now recently I was doing project in Secure IoT and suddenly remembered Az sphere and tried to use it. I downloaded the latest SDK (not knowing the new changes) connected my Az sphere and tried to logged in with my account. But to my surprise it showed the following warning.

warn: You don't have access to any Azure Sphere tenants.

warn: Type 'azsphere tenant create --name <name>' or, if you have used Azure Sphere before, type 'azsphere tenant migrate'.

I tried migrating and was greeted with the following error:

Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'OsTechnology' and cannot access the application '0b1c8f7e-28d2-4378-97e2-7d7d63f7c87f' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

At this point I asked my sis to give a try thinking that I was using the wrong account (Although I had the mail from microsoft regarding the creation of the active directory in my mailbox). She also a faced the exact same issue. Both of us can login into our Microsoft azure account and see an Active directory that is expired in our account.

What exactly is happening? More importantly how can we get over this issue?

Hope somebody here already knows what our issues is. I will be very happy and thankful if somebody can assist us.

So I have updated the SDK for Visual Studio and the board using:

"azsphere device recover"

The board updated to OS version 20.03. Now when I try to enable debugging via:

"azsphere device edv"

I receive following error:

"error: The device did not accept the device capability configuration. Please check the Azure Sphere OS on your device is up to date using 'azsphere device show-deployment-status'."

show-deployment-status shows correctly OS version 20.03. I did the migration part and have tried reclaiming the device without any success. After that I have tried this method: https://github.com/gloveboxes/Enabling-Developer-Mode-on-Azure-Sphere-20.01 but the board doesn't download the image on reboot so I have tried to put it into cloud test using:

"azsphere device ect -pn "My Product Name" -dgn "My Device Group Name""

But then I received following error:

"error: Could not send device capability configuration to device."

Did anyone had similar problem and found solution for it?

Hello Group,

I have a few questions on how to use an existing Sensor that I have

My questions are:

How to Connect the Sensor to the MT3620?

When Connected, how to access the pins through my program.of the ADC on the MT3620, specifically (CLK, D out, D in, CS/SHDN) ?

I would enjoy getting collaboration support from the group, I am a developer that has a limited knowledge about electronics and MCU's in general.

Here is some more background on what I am trying to do, but I'm stuck on getting the sensor hooked up to the Kit

I am trying to connect a Heart Rate Sensor that I have from another project to my Avnet MT3620.

This project is working great for me on a Raspberry PI . Here is the link to the project from the vendor of the Heart Pulse sensor.

I would hope that I can use this project as an example to connect the sensor directly to the MT3620 and port the code to the Sphere SDK.

This project uses the Raspberry PI and circuit on a breadboard. The code is written In C.

The circuit contains an ADC chip that takes a signal from the heart Sensor into an analog input pin on the ADC

Dashboard frozen

Hi, great tutorial...

I already completed the 3 blogs... awesome learning!!!

After complete the 3rd, I realize that my dashboards are frozen... those not complete to render and continue with the blue dots for the eternity....

I worked several ours trying to find the mistake... until I asked to one colleague to test my deploy... in his computer works fine !!!

We are on different location (Myself in Switzerland and my colleague in USA)

Have you an idea about what is missing??

Hi Guys,

I am trying to use Mikro RF click and facing issues converting the sample Mikro code to C. From the tech spec, the RF click uses SPI interface. The closest available sample from Avnet code for SPI was OLEDB Click module.

Any help on how to get started, especially on the SPI header and initial SPI initialise. Thanks.

Converting Windows C++ Code For Azure Sphere Deployment

The YDLIDAR modules are a pretty cool devices. They allow to laser scan to get point data for point clouds which can then be processed by other means into meaningful geometries. It's great for Machine Vision applications.

I'd like to read its laser scanning with the Azure Sphere. Folks have pulled it off with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, general linux boxes, and Windows. I just pulled it off with c++ on my old LUBUNTU laptop following the github instructions.

But, I don't know how to port the project solution for Azure Sphere Starter Kit deployment.

Can anyone give a hint on where I would start to set up Visual Studio to import a repository like this so it could deploy to the Azure Sphere Starter Kit?

2 RTApp + 1 High Level App. How to select cores ?

I am designing a prototype over Sphere Kit and want to deploy 2 Real Time apps (1 will control LED Matrix, 1 will control Buttons, LEDs, Sensors) and High Level App will communicate with Azure Cloud. I want to ensure that 2 Real Time apps should not use same core and should pickup different cores. If I look into Manifest file I can define that as RealTime app but how can I define exact core where it should be executed. Basically I am trying to figure out how to use all cores in Practical Projects ?
