The Avnet Heat Sink for Kria K26 is designed specifically for the AMD-Xilinx Kria K26 system on module (SOM). The heat sink mounts directly to the heat spreader plate that comes standard on the K26 SOM. This solution is “turn key” as it includes the mounting hardware as well as the interface “gap” material preinstalled on the heat sink.

The Avnet Heat Sink for Kria K26 is designed to provide passive relief for designs up to 10W in room temperature (approximately 26C) applications. Designed with flexibility in mind, mounting holes in the heat sink allow for the addition of a standard 50x50mm fan. The addition of a fan provides maximum thermal relief capability allowing for higher power and higher ambient temperature operation. Power and environmental parameters should be considered when selecting your solution. Whether passive or active, Avnet's heat sink for Kria K26 has you covered!

The 8ULP SOM is a compact (43mm x 36mm), ultra-low power, peripheral-rich, compute module, designed for integration onto custom OEM hardware.

Technical Specification

The NXP i.MX 8ULP device on this SOM is architected for optimal power efficiency, with separated processing domains, e.g. Application domain with two Arm® Cortex®-A35 cores plus 3D/2D GPUs (plus comprehensive Linux enablement for rich GUI applications) Real Time domain with Arm Cortex-M33F core for real-time performance, plus Cadence Fusion F1 DSP core for low-power audio/voice use cases. LPAV domain (Low Power Audio Video) with a Cadence Tensilica HiFi 4 DSP core for advanced audio, ML and sensor applications.

An EdgeLock Security Enclave and μPower Manager include RISC-V cores to manage advanced security features and govern over 20 different power mode configurations across the processing domains. Together with the onboard NXP PCA9460B PMIC, exceptional energy efficiency is achieved.

Memory resources include OCRAM (896 KB), x32bit LPDDR4X DDR (2 GB), 8bit PSRAM (8 MB), eMMC 5.1 flash (32GB) and 8bit SPI NOR flash (4 MB).

Board-to-board interface is via two 100pin (0.4 mm pitch) connectors that can accommodate different stacking heights and have mating connectors from both Samtec and TE Connectivity.

The compact SOM dimensions, energy-efficient multi-processor architecture, EdgeLock security, graphic capabilities and rich peripheral mix, all add-up to a versatile intelligent edge solution.

The UltraZed-EV SOM provides easy access to 152 user I/O pins, 26 PS MIO pins, 4 highspeed PS GTR transceivers along with 4 GTR reference clock inputs, and 16 PL high-speed GTH transceivers along with 8 GTH reference clock inputs through three I/O connectors on the backside of the module. Designers can simply design their own carrier card, plug-in UltraZed-EV SOM, and start their application development with a proven Zynq UltraScale+MPSoC sub-system. Available with the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC XCZU7EV-FBVB900 device, the UltraZed-EV SOM enables designers to build multimedia, automotive ADAS, surveillance, and other embedded vision applications with confidence and ease. The MPSoC EV device with its integrated H.264 / H.265 video codec unit is capable of simultaneous encode and decode up to 4Kx2K (60fps).

Carrier Card: The UltraZed-EV Carrier Card supports the UltraZed-EV™ System-on-Module (SOM), providing easy access to the full 152 user I/O, 26 PS MIO, 4 PS GTR transceivers, and 16 GTH transceivers available from the UltraZed-EV SOM via three Micro Headers. Two 200-pin Micro Headers on the carrier card mate with the UltraZed-EV SOM, connecting 152 of the UltraZed-EV Programmable Logic (PL) I/O along with 16 GTH transceivers to FMC HPC slot, LVDS Touch Panel interface, SFP+ interface, HDMI In/Out, 3G-SDI In/Out, push button switches, DIP switches, LEDs, Xilinx SYSMON, clock generators, and 2 Digilent Pmod™ compatible interfaces.

UltraZed-EG™ SOM is a highly flexible, rugged, System-On-Module (SOM) based on the Xilinx Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC.

Designed in a small form factor (2.0” x 3.5”), the UltraZed-EG SOM packages all the necessary functions such as:

System memory
Ethernet
USB
Configuration memory needed for an embedded processing system.

The UltraZed-EG provides easy access to 180 user I/O pins, 26 PS MIO pins, and 4 high-speed PS GTR transceivers along with 4 GTR reference clock inputs through three I/O connectors on the backside of the module. Product Brief (Datasheet)

Carrier Card: The UltraZed IO Carrier Card supports the UltraZed-EG™ System-on-Module (SOM), providing easy access to the full 180 user I/O, 26 PS MIO, and 4 PS GTR transceivers available from the UltraZed-EG SOM via three Micro Headers. Technical Specification

The feature rich AU15P device features 170K programmable logic cells and 12 GTH multi-gigabit transceivers as well as 576 DSP slices and 7.6 Mb of on-chip RAM. The board also features 2GB of ISSI DDR4 and non-volatile configuration and boot from the 512Mb of ISSI QSPI Flash. A Microchip PHY enables the 10/100 Ethernet interface. A microUSB port provides on-board JTAG/UART access. A Renesas clock generator and ECS crystal oscillators provide clocking to the AU15P device, GTH transceivers, JTAG, and communication interfaces. All 12 GTH transceivers are brought out to SFP+ 10 GbE Ethernet (1), HDMI 2.0 Rx & Tx (3), and PCIe end point (4) interfaces and FMC (4) I/O expansion. A combination of slide switches, push buttons, and LEDs (red and RGB) allow user interaction with the board. A temperature sensor from STMicroelectronics adds environmental data to the system. Additionally, 80 FPGA I/Os are exposed through the Samtec connectors for FMC LPC high-speed expansion and one Click Board™ site. The board is powered from a 60W power supply and Renesas and TDK power devices. With a Vivado-enabled board definition file and PetaLinux BSP, you will be up and running in no time! Whether you want to explore bare metal, RTOS, or Linux software, the AUBoard 15P will give you a solid base foundation to experiment. Product Brief (Datasheet)

Technical Specification

The PicoZed module contains the core requirements to support SoC design including memory, configuration, Ethernet, USB, and clocks. It provides easy access to over 100 user I/O pins through three I/O connectors on the backside of the module. These connectors can support dedicated interfaces for Ethernet, USB, JTAG, power and other control signals, as well as the GTP/GTX transceivers on the 7015/7030 models. The transceiver based 7015 and 7030 versions of PicoZed are a superset of the 7010/7020 version, adding four high-speed serial transceiver ports to the I/O connectors. These tutorials provide a means to integrate several different technologies on a single platform. Using the Avnet target boards, we have the power of ARM processors, combined with the unrivaled flexibility of Xilinx programmable logic to implement custom hardware systems. We use a Linux kernel as the foundation operating system running on the processor cores which enables a very large ecosystem of software to be run on our development kits. Virtual machines can provide a very convenient Ubuntu development environment for building the hardware platform and cross-compiling software to target the Processing System.

Technical Specification

MicroZed contains two I/O headers that provide connection to two I/O banks on the programmable logic (PL) side of the Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC device. In stand-alone mode, these 100 PL I/O are inactive. When plugged into a carrier card, the I/O are accessible in a manner defined by the carrier card design. Product Brief (Datasheet)

In addition to the evaluation kit, MicroZed is also available for volume purchase as a module only (no cable, license voucher, or uSD Card). This System-On-Module or SOM version of MicroZed comes in either the Zynq 7Z010 or 7Z020 version. Custom-built versions of MicroZed are available at your local Avnet sales office or e-mail: customize@avnet.com.

RASynBoard is a tiny (25mm x 30mm), ultra-low power, edge AI/ML board, based on a Syntiant NDP120 Neural Decision Processor, a Renesas RA6M4 host MCU plus a powerefficient DA16600 Wi-Fi/BT combo module. The NDP120 subsystem with on-board digital microphone, IMU motion sensor and SPI Flash memory, achieves highly efficient processing of acoustic- and motion events. An IO board (50mm x 30mm) is included for implementation of a compact two-board evaluation kit assembly. This pins-out a subset of the NDP120 and RA6M4 I/Os to popular Pmod, Click header and expansion header footprints, enabling connection with additional external microphones and sensor options. An onboard debugger MCU (SWD and UART interfaces), button switches, RGB LED and removable MicroSD storage, further maximize prototyping versatility and utility.

NDP120 AI/ML models for popular use-cases (pre-engineered by Syntiant and other vendors) are loaded from local SPI Flash storage for efficient execution on the ultra-low power NDP120 neural accelerator device.

RA6M4 MCU application software development and debug is supported via the Renesas e2 Studio IDE, interfaced via the E2OB debugger MCU on the IO board.

MaaXBoard RT is a dual-purpose SBC board based on NXP’s i.MX RT1176 processor. Optimized for use as low-cost development board and to embed in OEM products, it provides advanced security, high-performance low-latency real-time operation, with a versatile set of peripheral interfaces ideal for implementation of eg. industrial automation and power-efficient audio/visual AI-enabled applications. i.MX RT1170 series cross-over processors are based on Arm® Cortex®-M7 and Cortex-M4 cores for real-time industrial performance and microcontroller usability at a cost-effective price.

Software enablement includes a comprehensive NXP RT1170 SDK that accelerates application development with drivers, middleware, code snippets and FreeRTOS based examples (AzureRTOS support will follow soon). Out-of-box Avnet example reference designs are also provided to jump-start development.

Hardware components include SDRAM and HyperFlash high-speed 256 Mb memories, two Ethernet ports, USB 2.0 host and device ports, MIPI-DSI display interface and MIPI-CSI camera interface, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless, an audio subsystem that supports Bluetooth PCM audio, onboard PDM microphones (4) plus stereo codec with an audio jack. Expansion 40 pin (Pi HAT-compatible) and 18 pin headers pin-out peripheral interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN bus, and GPIO for further system expansion, making this versatile platform ideal for prototyping and deployment of realtime AI and industrial applications.

MaaXBoard RT also has advanced security features to protect your application. (eg. Crypto engine, key protection, random number generation, secure storage, bus encryption, tamper protection, secure boot and more) to secure mission critical applications (eg. electrical grid control and medical applications).

MaaXBoard RT ships with a quick start guide to ensure that hardware and software application development can commence efficiently. The user is responsible for providing an SWD/JTAG debug probe (inexpensive NXP MCU-LINK or equivalent) as well as a suitable 5V/3A USB power adapter with USB-C connector.

The Raspberry Pi form-factor carrier SBC carrier board adds QSPI flash memory (16Mbit) plus connectivity and UI interfaces. High speed interfaces include four USB 2.0 interfaces (2x host type A, 1x host type-C, 1x device type-C), MIPI DSI display and MIPI CSI camera interfaces, two 1 Gbps Ethernet ports and two high-speed CAN interfaces. Expansion interfaces include a Pi-Hat 40pin-header, 6-pin ADC header and 6-pin SAI digital audio header (supplemented by two onboard PDM microphones).
