I described a simpler approach here: /products/devtools/ni-labview/b/labview-challenge-blogs/posts/setting-up-pi-pico-and-accessing-instruments Since Shabaz posted his experience a while back, it seems to have changed. There's now an installer to set up the Pico and that also installs Visual Studio code if it isn't already. If there's something in my step-by-step instructions that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll chip in. Busy finalising my blog but I'll do what I can.

Aww. The Pico tool wasn't intended as a distractor or a confuser.

Purpose was to allow contenders that don't own a commercial SCPI instrument, to play along.

Thank you very much for writing about your journey with labview training. I couldn't participate in the challenge because I was totally immersed in another one. But with great curiosity I approached that formation last week. I was also able to follow the LabView tutorials without problems, with the advantage that I began my professional career as an evangelist for LabView for Mac, the first version of the 80s on MacOS. Who would have imagined that LabView would still be alive 37 years later? In summary, I started the training well until I crashed with the last tutorial, I don't know if it was due to my incompetence, rush or not fully understanding the purpose of the last tutorial. It remains a pending subject for some weekend when I have time to review it.
