Arduino Uno click shield is an extension for Arduino Uno and any other Arduino-compatible board, for example the Atmel SAMA5D3 Xplained board. It's a simple shield with two mikroBUS™ host sockets that allow you to connect more than 75 different types of click boards to the Arduino. Quickly add functionalities like GSM, GPS, WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, or thunder detection, proximity and color sensing and so on. Software examples for click boards for MikroElektronika compilers are available on Libstock, giving you a repository of working code to use as it is, or as a starting point for your own projects. The package includes two 1x8 headers, and single 1x10, and 1x6 headers.

Applications: Arduino Uno click shield allows you to use click add-on boards from MikroElektronika on your favorite Arduino or any other Arduino-compatible board.

What are the two mikroBUSTm host sockets used for?

The two mikroBUS™ host sockets allow you to connect more than 75 different types of click boards to the Arduino. Quickly adding functionalities like GSM, GPS, WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, or thunder detection, proximity and color sensing and so on. For example: MIKROE-958 (BLUETOOTH CLICK) , MIKROE-922 (ADC CLICK) etc.

What is the purpose of the switch which indicates "PROG" and "UART", could you please explain?

The Arduino Uno click shield has a small switch that allows you to bootload your Arduino without unplugging any click boards you have connected. Put the switch in the Prog position when bootloading your Arduino and return it back to the UART position afterward.

Why is a Ground loop used in the MIKROE-1581 - Arduino UNO click shield?

The ground loop in the MIKROE-1581 - Arduino UNO click shield  is used for testing signals with an oscilloscope. 

Are the Reset button and ISP Header of Arduino Uno accessible after connecting the MIKROE-1581 over it?

Yes, the shield is designed in a way that allows the Arduino board's ISP header and Reset button to be accessible.

Do all of the click boards work on 3.3V which is used by MIKROE-1581 - Arduino UNO click shield?

No, some click boards are specific to 3.3V or to 5V (other click boards will have a jumper setting to select the voltage), so make sure that the click boards selected are compatible with the Arduino board used.
