The chipKIT™ Pi is the latest Arduino™ compatible chipKIT™ platform from Microchip and element14 specially designed for Raspberry Pi. It features a 32-bit PIC32MX2xx microcontroller in a prototyping-friendly, low pin count SPDIP package. The PIC32’s performance, memory and integrated peripherals allow users to create applications including touch sensing, audio processing and advanced control. The board is supported by the free chipKIT™ Multi-Platform IDE (MPIDE) that can be hosted on the Raspberry Pi and allows users to create, compile and program Arduino sketch-based chipKIT™ applications within the Raspberry Pi operating system. This software development was completed by voumnteers from the chipKIT™ and Arduino communities.

chipKIT™ Pi is the world’s first to enable the development of 3.3V Arduino compatible applications for the Raspberry Pi using a 32-bit, high-performance PIC32 MCU in a prototyping-friendly package. Because the Raspberry Pi’s processor is a 3.3V chip, its digital I/O and communications (I2C™, UART, SPI) pins require 3.3V. Hence the existing prototyping-friendly Arduino boards, which are all based on 5V 8-bit MCUs, require users to create or purchase additional components to translate the voltages. The chipKIT™ Pi can interface directly to the Raspberry Pi I/O Expansion header without any additional components, reducing both cost and design complexity.

The chipKIT™ development platform is an open-source hardware and software solution intended for beginners and users with little or no knowledge of embedded controllers wanting to explore embedded applications. The chipKIT™ environment advances the art of open-source, physical computing by expanding support to more chip platforms and introducing new, high-performance libraries. It combines low-cost hardware with free software that is fast, powerful, and extendable.

Description

The PSOC™ 4100T Plus Prototyping Kit for PSOC™ 4100T Plus MCU (CY8CPROTO-041TP ) is powered with Infineon's 5th Gen CAPSENSE™ technology. The PSOC™ 4100T Plus MCU offers advanced sensing capabilities and enables enhanced HMI and system control in a single chip. The kit offers a complete, out-of-the-box experience, allowing users to explore and assess the capabilities of Infineon’s 5th-generation CAPSENSE™ and Multi-Sense technology. The kit enables developers to create and test applications that leverage self/mutual capacitance sensing technologies.

As part of this road test, we are also looking for testers to leverage interchangeable expansion cards found in a separate PSOC 4000T kit while road testing the new PSOC 4100T Plus prototyping kit.

You will receive 2 kits, one for the product being reviewed (CY8CPROTO-041TP), and a separate kit (CY8CPROTO-040T-MS) which will include the relevant expansion cards, including: a hover touch board, liquid level sensing board, and some metal touch boards. You will use these expansion cards to attach to your PSOC 4100T Plus prototyping kit (CY8CPROTO-041TP) for expanded testing of hover, metal and liquid level sensing.

In the Modus Toolbox, CY8CPROTO-041TP based example codes are available for these expansion boards, for easier plug and play.

The Voyager4 uses triaxial, digital-out, MEMS sensors, including the ADXL382 and ADXL367. The design also includes the MAX32666 BLE and MAX78000 AI microcontrollers. Flexible and PCB area-efficient PMIC power devices have been added as load switches for enhanced wireless sensor power savings. A BLE 5.3 Adapter with Antenna is included in every Voyager4 kit. Voyager4 uses BLE which makes it compatible with any PC with a Bluetooth Radio, but to ensure optimal performance and range, using the adapter when communicating with Voyager4 is recommended.

The TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT is part of the ADI Trinamic evaluation board system. It is a 70V/10A permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)/brushless DC (BLDC) evaluation kit that allows evaluation of the TMC9660, which is a highly integrated monolithic motor controller and gate driver IC for three-phase BLDC motors, two-phase bipolar stepper motors, and DC motors.

The TMC9660-3PH-EVAL focuses on the usage of three-phase BLDC motors with the possibility to use ABN encoders or digital Hall sensors as position feedback mechanisms. Additionally, the board allows simultaneous control of a brake chopper and an electromechanical brake through the otherwise unused fourth half-bridge.
