Hello,

I managed to install and run Debian from an SD Card.

I have a problem with my build - the size of RAM memory available in Debian is only 256 MB, instead of 2 GB.
Did you noticed this issue? Do you have any idea on how to solve this problem?

Hello,

I am able to get Ubuntu running in terminal, however i would like get it displayed in HDMI,

Even modifying uenv.txt with the below fdt_file value. Still nothing get displayed in HDMI out.

Default yocto atmel hdmi example image works fine.

Please show me some directions to get HDMI output from the target.

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to port ubuntu in SAMA5D4, i followed the below article,

Linux: UBUNTU (Kylin 16.04 LTS)

Also followed all the steps and everything worked fine, when trying to boot from SD Card got the below issue.

The wires are not organized the same on sama5d3 vs. sama5d4 in 16bits mode. On PDA 4.3", we use the 24bits mode whereas on the PDA 7", the 16bits mode must be used: this is why we didn't produce a DTB for sama5d4 xplained with PDA 7" yet.

So, to have a solution, you would need to swap some wires on the ribbon cable and adapt some voltage levels... which is not easy I admit. Or wait for our production of a special ribbon cable that is design to match these new requirements.

Another solution, if you don't intend to connect your PDA 7" screen to any sama5d3 xplained system, would be to de-solder and re-solder the 0 Ohms resistors that stand at the back of the screen as two parallel series (must be documented in PDA's dataseet). Plus, you would need to provide 3.3V to the LCD through the pins 48-49 of the ribbon cable instead of 5V: for this, you would de-solder the R417 resistor and solder the R416 resistor (check the sama5d4 xplained schematics for more insight).

http://www.pdaatl.com/doc/tm7000_sama5d3xpld_qs.pdf try this out. It is linux, but can prove the hardware works with yours. Note the SAMA5D3 is close but not exactly the same. I would use the DTB for SAMA5D4 with the LCD support.

Good Job Peter,

The board looks quite capable, but I agree that you need to have a good support environment to make it easy to use.

It looks like there are a few bugs left to workout, but it is still an interesting board.

Were you able to get the touch screen working? On my board I can use the mxt-app utility to read the device info, but that's about all.

Your two posts are going to save me. I was stuck with this board where virtually everyone seems to hit the wall - at the linux prompt.
That's where I got after a 3 day week-end (I got to that point on day 1 and didn't make too much progress after that).

There is a USER blue led blinking and the two others are red (POWER POWER)

Please confirm the jumper states too (JP7 open and EDBG_DIS) are open

Is there any hardreset cheat codes to try ?

Btw the board boots fine using stock yocto image

Can you test how fast you can read from the ADC's?
