Personally, I think that the spray should permanently dye the attacker in a phlorescent Orange paint, but I am sure there would be someone objecting.

Taking a picture is the next best thing for getting a positive ID, assuming that they are not wearing a mask or some other disguise.

If you are being attacked, you clearly have nothing to lose by using the Mace and the picture might help the police nab the perpetrator.

I hope they let this device go into public use.
