More than brilliant a very nice exhaustive documentation. As you probably know, I am involved by a while in a personal project of making some electronic musical instruments, i.e. a Pi-based pure Data synth and something else. Excellent article.

It's always great to see mention of the mighty GX-1, however, in this case I think it has been confused for 2 other instruments as it does not use the this technology.

The first digital FM synth Yamaha produced was the GS-1, while their first FM Electone organ was the FX-1. I understand the confusion as information is sparse.

Nonetheless, you have provided a wealth of great info, and very clearly presented.

Talk about stimulating the brain to go look for interesting electronic music stuff, one of my all time fav music start (Electronic) was Jean Michelle Jarre, here is him with some of his early and still working synthesizers, some have a tape recorder for every key

From my research I have found that vibrating photons are involved in everything that happens in the Universe.

There is a near infinite way to mix and match audio frequencies to create a wide range of sound, some of them considered music.

Thanks for the history lesson, I never knew how much work went into the initial music synthesizers.

Moog synthesizer

any history of Synth can not go with out mentioning this classic and original synth for Rock Bands, yes it was analogue but historically it was very significant
