More seriously, I would love to read your engineering assessment of the major hurdles that you think would be faced in creating a real entertainment product along these lines, either self-build or as a commercial product. Tackling this ambitious project must have given you great insight about this kind of robotic problem, both hardware and software.

The kinds of people interested in such a device could vary widely. Having just one side computer-controlled would provide single-player "play against the machine" entertainment (a home gaming "appliance"), but with both sides computer-controlled it's easy to imagine Internet-wide championships being organized to pit one team's programming against another. These would be two entirely different kinds of "user", yet both applications could share the same basic hardware and interfacing.

Just like Google's robotic cars, I think robotic entertainment has a great future.

After checking, again, turns out with Google Docs even though you set it to 'public' this actually means 'public to those with a google account' and it has now, actually, been 'published'. Guh.

Very nice project. I may have missed the memo, but is it your goal (No pun intended) to automate the game. of not, what is your goal for the features of the game. I think you've done a great job so far. I would love to see a video of it in action. The score board looks great.

Hi selsinork,

Thanks for the feedback, this appears to be a Google problem - I'm sure that the spreadsheet is usable if you have a Google login but it should be setup for anyone to view and access.

All the while, Google claims the document is set as the following:

"Public on the web – Anyone on the Internet can find and view" with "Access:Anyone (no sign-in required)"

I'll change the link and again make sure that the link is correct, though, I just tried viewing it in an incognito window which worked.
