Great article - being able to programme these devices without shelling out a load of money is often the one thing holding us all back from playing with these devices. I really must try this, as I do already have a BBB.

The article also looks well presented and clearly written - but I suppose I should use the article by giving it a go myself before rating it...

Great stuff, Shabaz, keep up the good work sharing these gems with us!

This is nice, Shabaz, I finally got around to looking at this again.

I do have a question, though. In the article you state:

"it is worthwhile buying a small oscillator too for reasons to be explained later"

I never saw the explanation. Did I miss it?

No issue. If you want to move the pins remember there are directions to set which is in main.c not the header file with the rest of the pin def, that threw me for a bit.

XC9572XL or XC2C64A CPLDs for low cost. That's where I got mine from, anyway.

Stick your arbitary SBC+FPGA+Breadboard all together so they don't go wondering ...!

BTW does any one know if the Pipistrello and Papilio boards share that same footprint they look like it and my Papilio is hiding somewhere and is now MIA !!

Any ideas on what extras I may add on, I think I've got most things sorted ?!?!

This is an excellent installment in your series of BBB articles!

I also think it fills an important niche in view of the very frequent discussions we have about CPLDs and FPGAs in the forum, often coupled to ARM topics. It's bang on target. I bet this is going to encourage many readers to take a look at programmable logic.

I must try this out, maybe with both CPLDs.
