Hi Nico,

You said that "some libraries available that make it easy to use the GPIO ports in an Android app" but I never found it...

I'd like to access GPIO via Android, and first of all I tried to launch the commande "echo XX > /sys/class/gpio/export with 3 differents Linux Console application for Android, an it always doesn't work -> 'Permission Denied", and chmod command (or su or sudo) also doesn't work.

Could you help me about this subject ?

Do you have some sample of code ?

Congratulation Nico for sharing with the community your "out-of-the-box" experience with the RiOT board.

To answer your question about wireless adapters, I heard that Element14 will publish soon some information about the compatible of the RiOT with the Wi-Pi (wifi adapter for the Raspberry-Pi).

For the Bluetooth, it is also scheduled to connect some Freedom boards (low-cost Cortex-M MCU evaluation boards) for IoT or home-automation applications.

Sound problems in Android are a known issue

$50 to whoever fixes the sound issue on the RIOTBoard!

No sound in RioTboard (Android)

Various promises in those posts that a fix is being worked on, but two months later nothing.

It is simply a software problem as sound works fine in Linux.

Interesting that you get the three icons along the bottom of the screen, I've never seen those on an HDMI connected screen, instead getting a strange black bar down the right edge of the screen that does the home action if double clicked on. I do get the icons when I connect the LVDS display though.

If your monitors have DVI, then passive HDMI-DVI adapters work, although there's at least one report of HDMI-VGA not working A newcomer asks about Riotboard HDMI...

If you're thinking about Wifi, then support doesn't appear to be available yet [mention:319b02bef1c74927bdc16bd8c7b0e484:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] has said that the WiPi adapter will be supported 'sometime' Re: Have a RIoTboard question? Ask the expert, John McLellan but reading between the lines, it might be the only one that gets support.
