Camera compatible with MCIMX6Q-SL in camera interface PPI

As i need to interface an parallel camera with MCIMX6Q-SL board which has an parallel interface connector.

Can anyone suggest me an camera which is compatible with the camera interface on MCIMX6Q-SL board.

I am trying to add support on SABRE Lite bsp for a custom HDMI LCD display with non-standard resolution (1280*480).

UART Serial connection

Hello everyone. i'm hoping i can get some help with something i have been working off and on for a while. I have a SABRESD i.MX 6Dual/6Quad on a custom board from some OEM manufacturer. A few of them actually. I want to follow this tutorial to put linux on it. Looks pretty straight fwd. The problem i'm having is im unable to connect to the serial port to stop the U-Boot process if there is one at all. Currently there is Android on it so it's probably Fastboot. I'm guessing that the custom board does not allow a serial connection so it's not tampered with. I found what i think is a tx/rx on the board that connects to the chip for development.

Here is the pinout of the connection to the chip. the far left and right are vcc and ground while the two in the center connect to the chip.

Sorry for the noob questions. This is all very new to me and this is all i have managed to put together. If there is indeed Fastboot on it, is there a way i can flash U-boot without access to the serial connection that will later have a serial connection for me to connect to?

How to mount Element14 SABRElite?

Recently bought a SABRElite board for some tasks where it seemed a good choice. Planned to add some "case-like" mounting for safer handling of the board.

But when the board arrived, I found out that Element14/Embest had put some components so close to the mounting holes that typical standoffs won't fit, only the non-fixable short legs that came with the board.

Do any of you earlier adopters of this board know a practical way to mount the Element14 SABRElite in a box or similar?

Hello,

i am really new to embedded linux so hopefully anybody can give me a hint how to succeed with my problem...

I bought the sabre lite board and the LCD8000-97CLCD8000-97C Since i can´t achive CAN communication with the original demo Image i switch to Yocto core-image-base where i add the CAN stuff

Now i have problems to get the LCD8000-97CLCD8000-97C working I tried to add the uBoot environment vars as descriped in the manual but i think the 6xbootscript override this variables and so i can´t get any output to the lcd display

Is it possible to adopt the bootscript with the Yocto build environment?

Or any other suggestions how to get the LCD8000-97CLCD8000-97C working

Embest SABRE Lite memory bandwidth vs Boundary Devices SABRE Lite

I face a performance problem on Embest SABRE Lite board. I suspected a memory bandwidth limitation so I ran bw_mem from lmbench suite.

I have also a Boundary Devices SABRE Lite board. Here are the results with bw_mem -P 1 -N 4 128M what

The tests clearly show memory bandwidth is significantly lower for all use cases.

I have noticed the memory controller settings are different by displaying the register contents with U-Boot. However, both boards have the same Hynix DDR chip Hynix H5TQ2G63DFR with same speed grade H9C.

Does someone have an idea about this?

How do enable in the second uart port on the sabre lite board

I am trying to output data from my application through the serial port on the Sabre lite board. I need to enable the UART port for the board so my API can output the data.Is there a boot command I can use enable the UART, through the U-boot? I am using 08-09 version of U-boot and using an android OS (4.0).

Datasheet Touch controller VTL CT36X used on LCD8000-97C

I am developing a device driver for the Touch controller VTL CT363 which is on LCD8000-97CLCD8000-97C I found a linux driver which helps me a bit but I am looking for the datasheet It should be available on the site from VTL http://www.vtl.com.cn/support/download/ but I am not able to download it for some reason. I also contacted VTL but no response.

Could somebody help me with this datasheet?

Differences between Element 14 Sabrelite and Boundary Devices SabreLite

I've been working with the SABRE Lite BSP offered now with WEC2013.

We have 4 of the Element 14 SABRE Lite boards and have successfully booted WinCE 2013, however we have struggled to get HDMI working and some of the board peripherals.

I recently contacted Boundary Devices about the problems we were having:

The element14 board is not the same SABRE Lite. We did the original design for Freescale, but the files were public at the time so element14 took the files and manufactured their own version.

We have made notable improvements on the SABRE Lite design so I cannot comment on how our software will work with the element14 board.

Could someone clarify if this is the case ? As from what we can gather the element14 board isn't compatible with the iMX6Q SABRE Lite supplied with WEC2013 bsp.

I've also noticed the two boards mentioned on Timesys who produce the shipped Linux demo image with the element14 board:

SABRE Lite development board dual display ?

For SABRE Lite development board and LCD8000-97C display unit and we have the same display set-up with LVDS and I2C interfaces as per document http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1780778.pdf Now as the HDMI port free and the question is that can we connect another LCD8000-97C display to it using the HDMI port? Does the LCD8000-97C display support standard HDMI on the HDMI C port ?

Hello, my Sabrelite board came with the 2009 version of u-boot

environment variable upgradeu specifies 6q_bootscript but new uboots are 6x_bootscript

Over at boundary devices they indicate that the vendor should be supporting.

Cannot boot android on SABRElite

Hello

I have an Element14 sabrelite and i'm trying to put android on it.

I flashed the u-boot i made with LTIB, there is no problem, but when i try to put android on it, i receive that with minicom :

MMC read: dev # 0, block # 2048, count 8192 ... 8192 blocks read: OK

Wrong Image Format for bootm command

ERROR: can't get kernel image!

But i downloaded "android Image" from this website : http://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-65093?ICID=knode-sabre-space i put the boot.img on my sd card with dd (sudo dd if=boot.img of=/dev/sdb), but now, i have this error.

Is there a doc wich explain how tu use it? Or someone can help me with that?

Jelly Bean 4.3 uImage, boot.img Issue

Hi,

I hope someone can help me on this. This is for the Freescale IMX6Q tablet (Zenithink C-94). This really is a good tablet that never a chance. Originally came out with ICS 4.0 on it. Freescale released the source for Jelly Bean 4.3. I have built a rom from that source (and a AOSPA+ rom) , but the problem is with Zenithink. There are the proprietary blobs patched to the "boot.img" and "uImage_update". I need these blobs to get the tablet to initialize, but Zenithink hides behind a wall of silence. I have requested the source for the u-boot and boot.img, but have gotten squat. I have tried to pressure them by reporting a GPL violation here: license-violation@gnu.org and so far nothing. I have been left with reverse engineering this.

The "uImage_update" is essentially a uImage by what I can tell. On this tablet this writes to partition mmcblk08; basically a pre-file system that is up and running at initialization. The kicker is this is what I pulled off that:
Linux rev 1.0 ext4 filesystem data, UUID=80720123-59a2-fc56-b69d-aaf1e69ad9ae, volume name "vender" (extents) (large files)
This is a dev/zero section on that partition; meaning it overwrites the data from the first initramfs with zeros. Try to go into an adb shell:

# cat /dev/zero

and you'll see what I mean; you get nothing shown. I have extracted the initramfs from this uImage_update and this is what it looks like:

This is very different from what I have seen. Check in the "res", "sbin", and "system" folders (also the "mkext2.sh). I then extracted and decompressed the .gzip data file out of the uImage_update and named it "update". I then typed:

This, as you can see, shows the cpio, kernel, gzip, and LZMA files. The .gzip here is the configuration file for the kernel. I did the same with the uImage I built, from the freescale ICS source. This was done so I could compare the to images to isolate the extra files from Zenithink. Then I compared the ICS source to the JB 4.3 source I built to see the changes from ISC to JB. The kernels are essentially the same. I know that threre will be a difference between the builds (ICS=GCC 4.4.3 and JB=GCC 4.6). I extracted these extra (.LZMA) files (binaries) from the original uImage_update to put into the JB uImage.

Next, was the boot.img to boot up the device. I have extracted the initramfs from that:

As one can see, this is very different form the uImage_update. I followed the process as I did with above and I extracted the extra (.LZMA) files (binaries) from the original boot.img to put into the JB boot.img. So now you have a little history traveling down this rabbit hole, My question is:
How do I put these .LZMA files into the JB uImage (to be built and named "uImage_update") and JB boot.img? I do know it comes down to the uImage_update and boot.img to get this to work. I've tried updating the "initramfs" to match the way it is in JB, for both these images, but that did not work. I know someone here can help with this. Please help. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

This could be a long shot. I received this tablet. It has android 4.0 ICS on it. My question is, how could I find out the u-boot parameters on it? I would like to put the JB4.3_1.1.0 GA release on it. Building would not be a problem as I have already done that, but when it is flashed it will not come on. This is an actual tablet. Is there a way to get the information needed to get it to come on? According to the build prop it looks like a sabresd rom on a sabrelite board. I have tried to find where to hook it up USB to TTL, but it is not marked. I think the key is in the u-boot, but again it would be how to open the image. I need to know what bootloader is doing I guess. The basics are the same:

Kernel Base Address : 0x10800000

Ramdisk Load Address : 0x11800000

Second Stage Load Address : 0x11700000

Page Size : 2048 bytes

Is there some way to open the u-boot.bin? Is there some software for this? It would be nice to see this build on actual tablet in the real world. Anything would help.

ich habe zwei element14 SabreLite Boards. Eines ist rev1.2 und eines ist rev1.0.

Ich benutze eines Kernel, welcher aus dem boundarydevices github selber gebaut ist. Dazu ein Debian wheezy als Betriebsystem. Bootloader ist u-boot 2013.04. An dem Board mit der rev1.0 kommt sobald ich ein USB-Gerät anschließe folgender Fehler (siehe Unten)

An dem Board mit der rev1.2 habe ich dieses Problem nicht, mit der selben SD-Karte und gleichen Einstellungen in u-boot, bis auf die mac-Adresse.

Ist das Problem bekannt? Gibt es eine Lösung dafür?

I have two element14 SabreLite boards. One with rev1.0 and one with rev1.2. I use a kernel, which is build out of the boundarydevices github. Filesystem is debian wheezy. Bootloader is u-boot 2013.04. The board with rev1.0 gives me following error, when I connect a usb-device. The board with rev1.2 works fine. I use the same sd-card for both boards. Both have the same seeting in u-boot excepting the mac-address.

Is that a known bug? Is there any solution?

How do I fix this? I can not type

after that because I get:

The documentation for building u-boot and kernel images seems to have a problem with this command:

$ export CROSS_COMPILE=~/android-imx6-r13.3/prebuilt/linux-x86/toolchain/arm-eabi-

4.4.3/bin/arm-eabi-

This does not exist. It seems to be incomplete. What goes at the end? Would it be /arm-eabi-run? I do not know. Please help.

Question to the e14 folks.

Do you have any information, datasheet, whatever on the FORESEE NCEMBM11-04G eMMC chip on the MarS board ? I'm having problems getting it to cooperate with the imx usdhci driver in linux 3.15-rc1, unfortunately fixing it is nearly impossible without knowing anything about this device.

Interestingly, the micron eMMC on the RIoTboard works just fine in the same configuration
