Xeon or Core i7

I have to choose the processor of my next working station.

Which of these two processors (Xeon or Core i7) would be

the more faster for calculate the polygons under eagle V6.

Currently: 1,30mn under my old P4 3Ghz.

    If you compare cpus with equivalent features (e.g. clock speed, cache, and so on) you should have the same performance in system with comparable characteristics (equivalent RAM, mainboard, GPU, etc.). Xeon support ECC memory which is usually used on server systems. In my opinion you can choose the one you  prefer and have in both cases good performances.
