Using different types of thermal connection on a single polygon?

Hello,
Is it possible to use a thermal connection to a via and a solid connection  to a SMD pad on a single polygon?  Or is it just best to use two separate  polygons with the same name, with one having the thermals where I want, making  sure the two polygons touch to form a single "trace"?

    Edit package

    CHANGE Thermal off .. click on SMD you will change **

     

    HELP CHANGE --> Pad/via/smd flags

    HELP SMD --> NOTHERMALS

    HELP POLYGON ---> Thermals || Polygon parameters

      • HELP GROUP

    Is Eagle similar to Altium/Protel?   If so you can set up separate rules for the polygon pours based on whether it is a via or pad, etc.
