Converting vintage PCBs to Eagle?

I have a collection of old PCBs from the 1960's that I would like to convert to digital format and have fabricated, and as these are used for restoration they must look, and be layed out just like the originals.

Is there any way I can scan in a image of the track side of the vintage board and trace the boards in Eagles board view. Or, inport vetor traces iv done of the clones and have been using for the toner tranfer meathered to make the colned boards myself?

Someone might corretc me, but I can't think of any way this can be done easily in Eagle.

A program like bmp2eagle - designed for logos - could help with some of this, but still sounds like a lot of work.

What is the file format of the vector method you used.? There are a few
tools for importing dxf etc.

As for scanning the board, I have photographed a board and then processed
the image as best as possible with Photoshop/Gimp to get a two colour
bitmap. That can be imported a few times until, by trial and error, the
scaling is close. There will be distortion, the amount depending on your
camera gear. That image is imported onto a non copper layer and used for
tracing. To get accuracy, the board outline and component placement is
measured and placed using Eagle standard features. Then you route manually
and lable using the imported image for guidance.

Hello Warren,

I made the vector images in Adobe illustrator, so can easly convert them to Bitmap format, it just then the process of getting the Bitmap into Eagle im to to sure about.

You may have success exporting from Adobe Illustrator as dxf and import to
eagle using dxfimport1_3.zip from http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/ulps
