I'm gonna add that poem to the ESP8266's part description in Eagle Cad. Every time I use that part, for sure I will read it.

I see, that looks like the part for the ESP8266 Thing if you want to incorporate it your design. The one I provided you will work for the one you sent in the picture. No need of Sparkfun's library.

Hello Regular Guy,

The one I gave you works exactly for that module. It has 8 pins, and technically the footprint requires a 2x4 0.1" pitch female header.

The one I gave you only uses 8-pins (ESP8266 ESP-01), maybe you need a part for a different one? I think the other one that uses 8 pins is the ESP-02. It would be better if you post a picture of the module you have/plan to use.

As in, the module, not the specific chip. ESP 8266 that just came out 7 mo ago.

KK, so I was using the one you gave me, but it has more than 8 pins. Is there a .lbr file that contains an 8 pin ESP8266?

Library available here. Part is not tested yet in a real PCB.

Hello foxeater,

Exactly what "flavor" of ESP8266 are you looking for ? the IC or a specific ESP8266 module?

If you are in need of the IC only, Sparkfun RF library has it. If you are in need of the ESP8266 ESP-01, I made one for one of my projects and can share it with you (ESP-01 looks like picture below).
