KEL103 SCPI Programmers Manual

Hello Element14,

I'm trying to track down either a copy of the Programmer's Manual for either of the following electronic loads below. i have tried to find them on the manufacturer's website but without much luck. does someone on here have them?

- Korad KEL103 Programmer's Manual

- Multicomp Pro MP710259 US

Even if there was a list of SCPI commands somewhere that would be fine. i found some good help on github but it's not complete. Specifically i'm trying to automate setting the resistance value of the load in CR mode and not having much luck.

Huntron Tracker HTR 1005B-1 Pulse Generator/Signal Tracer Component Checker

Hi,

Recently I bought Huntron Tracker HTR 1005B-1 Pulse Generator/Signal Tracer Component Checker. But the transformer was no longer there(i guess that's why they sell it for a very cheap price). I try contacting the Huntron if by any chance i can buy a new transformer. Unfortunately, they no longer support the model I bought. Has anyone worked with this model before?

BK1103A Switch Help

I recently bought a second hand function generator and after checking it out it all appears to work well except for some of the switches. I was therefore hoping someone may be able to help me identify the make and model of the used switches. If I can replace them then I will have a perfectly good function generator, well minus the calibration (1993...)

This is a picture of the switch I 'm looking to replace. It's a six pin switch and appears that the upper and lower center are the two poles and the outer terminals are the four throws.

The function generator in question, awaiting its repairs.

DIY Non- Flamable heat increasing &anti static liquid

Hi all,

How could I create a non-flammable liquid that will increase the temperature of a polycarbonate surface (DVD disc ) for buffing with buffing wheel friction..

so I will soften the polycarbonate so it is malleable so the scratched surface can be smoothed out...

I'm looking for opinions on a function generator for my lab

So in my lab I have quite a good selection of equipment but one are a which is a little lacking is that of funciton generation. Now, My Keysight MSO-X3000A scope does have the embedded generator and I can create a number of different signals with that but it's limited in top end frequency and it's just a single channel. Also, being embedded in my scope it's a little more fiddly to use and less flexible as maybe a dedicated unit would be.

Now, I'd love a high end bit of kit like a Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or a Tektronix generator but they are horrendously expensive so I was looking around at what might be good in a nicer price range. So, I am not interested in the ultra cheap from Bangood or Ali Express or any of the expensive imports of the same flooding eBay and Amazon, this is for professional use so I want gear from a known company which is know to be of reasonable quality. Looking on the Farnell website I see a couple of Tenma units:

Doing a bit of research it appears these are rebadged UNI-T products, the UTG2062B and UTG4162A respectively. Does anybody here have any experience with these units, either in the Tenma guise as sold on Farnell or the UNI-T originals? How are these units when it comes to trying to control them remotely? Can the two outputs easily be synced up as well as operated independently?

Are there any other suggestions for similar specced units in the same ballpark price range that people can recommend?

Has anyone attempted to use Panasonic Grid-Eye for thermal image capturing or study of heat spreading in a load?

I recently attempted to study heat spreading in a cylindrical container containing water inside a microwave oven - having come over the difficulties in attempting to mount the camera.

Would be interesting to compare/share data....

Nextion 2.8 back contacts/active input

Ive been playing around with the nextion 2.8 display and its nearly perfect, only problem is I need the active input from the resistive screen, unfortunately the nextion does not have an option for this. Ive noticed on the back of the board there are these 5 contacts (3.3v, 3 unmarked and, gnd/j2).

Which is around the same number of contacts for a restive connections, so has anyone tested to see if these where resestive connections? Or how would you guys suggest I test these connections with my arduino? What pins should I connect the 3.3v and gnd to (the board gets power from 5v input and powers the resestive touch so connecting 3.3v to 3.3v pin would seem like this would cause a short)

Signal Tracer (Old school)

One of my projects for this year is to create a "new age" signal tracer like I used when i was a kid.

What I had was an old heathkit IT-12 pictured below.

The thing is i have no clue how this worked. I loved using it, and well just playing with it. It was sencitive efuff to hear audio runing through circuts without contacting the circuts, just getting the tip close to a trace.

So to start things off I created a audio amplifyer circut that I think is how this unit worked.

There are 2 things that I am compleetly lost about though.

How to make, or what to use for the probe.
How to make the visual circut.

1~I was thinking of taking a nail, and wraping copper wire around the nail to create a pickup coil, but i have no idea if this would work or if there is something better to try.

I am open to any ideas.

2~I was thinking of a 10 segment led bargraph desplay. But where would I need to conect the driver up to in the circut in the diagram? Would it be the the + side of C5?

I ordered some LM358N LM358 358 Low Power Dual Op-Amp IC's for this project that should be here on the 10th.

So I am planning on bread boarding this after that.

Also, I was thinking about starting to documenting some of my projects by video maby. So this might be one of the first ones I may try to document.

I have been feeling inspired by @Peter Oakes.

How to Validate a test Jig

Hi Folks.

What is the best way to validate a test jig. I have a test jig that works good but when comparing the results to the old fashioned way of connecting a function generator and probing the outputs on the scope, they differ slightly. Now this is all probable down to cable losses in the scope leads. But is there an official way to prove and accept these differences between the two methods?
