But the transformer was no longer there(i guess that's why they sell it for a very cheap price). I try contacting the Huntron if by any chance i can buy a new transformer. Unfortunately, they no longer support the model I bought. Wire them mains : 6.3:6.3:230V, you can take the fillament voltage from the mid point and the HT from the second transformer.

If you use torroidal transformers you can tune the ratios by adding turns to one of the 6.3V windings, the first if your outputs are too low and the second if too high.

You can easily add turns by winding some insulated wire around the outside (going through the hole of course,).

I would be happy doing all this but if you don't have some experience with working with 1.3kV, fully understand what I'm getting at, and have some test gear (meter and scope with high voltage probes) then best leave it.

Hope this helps, good luck.

MK

RE: Huntron Tracker HTR 1005B-1 Pulse Generator/Signal Tracer Component Checker

Hi Shabaz,

I manage to find the same schematic. After using the cleaner from ACL Staticide and working the switches a bit the issue seems to be resolved. I'm very impressed how the cleaner was able to penetrate the switch as I didnt think I could get anything between the housing and the "lid" of the switch. I used an xacto blade to get a slight opening and sprayed what I could inside. I can now get all the buttons to respond correctly.

I hope this is helpful to others who may have the same issue.

FYI I believe you can request samples non their website if its just a small amount needed.

Kas

RE: BK1103A Switch Help

for guitar amps I like to use a cleaner that clearly states "leaves no residue" to flood the switches and controls.

then work them out, clicking or turning many times..

then give a second wash and a blast of compressed air before I go back and carefully hit each switch with a cleaner that says "lubricant"

here are my favorites...

RE: BK1103A Switch Help

Hi Kas,

I have seen in the past where switches similar to these have a release that allows the internal contacts to slide out to the front. I'll look into this option when get a few minutes of downtime.

Kas

RE: BK1103A Switch Help

I'm wondering if a good clean and lube won't bring back the switches to their former glory.

It's entirely likely that the contacts that were uncovered have suffered from oxidation, and with cleaning and manipulation might bring them back.

A further spray of a lubrication type compound will ensure they remain in good condition.

Mark

RE: BK1103A Switch Help

kas.lewis - I can't find an exact replacement - but going through my local element14 site, there seems to be a few "compatible" looking candidates (minus the support legs).
