631X Rolls

Precisely graded diamond particles coated on a 1 mil polyester film backing provide a consistent, repeatable finish on extremely hard materials. Available in rolls only, in 0.1 - 30 micron grades.

636XY Rolls

This product is a fixed abrasive consisting of diamond agglomerates in an organic binder on a film backing. The abrasive product is designed for edge finishing of raw and patterned silicon wafers. This product may also be used for hard substrates like AlTiC ceramics, optical glass, and some metals.

641X Rolls

662XW TH Discs

A higher diamond concentration and a stronger resin bond give this product added durability and increased cut rate over our standard diamond lapping film. Available in discs of 0.5 - 9 micron grades.

663X TP Discs

A stronger resin system gives this product added toughness and longer life. Used primarily in superfinishing, roll polishing, and flat lapping applications. Available in 30, 45, and 60 micron grade discs.

664X TP PSA Discs

A stronger resin system gives this product added toughness and longer life. Used primarily in flat lapping applications. Available in 30 and 45 micron grade discs.

666XW TH PSA Discs

A higher diamond concentration and a stronger resin bond give this product added durability and increased cut rate over our standard Diamond Lapping Film. These self-adhesive discs are available in 0.5 - 9 micron grades.

668X PSA Discs

The standard of 3M's premium diamond abrasive films, 668X PSA has a 3 mil polyester film backing with pressure sensitive adhesive attachment system. PSA discs are available in 0.1 - 30 micron grades.

Heat-bondable, Z-Axis conductive films, consisting of thermoplastic and themosetadhesives randomly loaded with conductive particles. These particles allow interconnection of circuit lines through the adhesive thickness (the Z-Axis), but are spaced far enough apart for the product to be electrically insulating along the plane of the adhesive.

PCB Grounding Plane Bonding Film

3M™ Hyper-Soft Thermally Conductive Interface Pads are used to transfer heat from a hot surface or device to a coller surface region of the assembled design. 3M™ Thermally Conductive Grease

The 3M™ Thermally Conductive Greases are high performance thermal interface materials for transferring thermal energy from a heat source (e.g. processor chip, graphics chip, High Power LED) to a heat sink. The proprietary blend of inorganic fillers contained in an organic matrix (non-silicone) ensures high thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance. Grease products are available in two versions: Standard viscosity and a lower viscosity version that can be useful in screen printing application methods.

Innovative 3M Material Enables Sleek Designs and Technical Success of Consumer Electronics

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas today, 3M unveiled an extension to its line of transparent conductors. The new 3M Patterned Transparent Conductors, used in consumer electronic devices for a variety of applications including projected capacitive touch sensing, offer key advantages over existing ITO/PET designs and help enhance both the performance and appearance of consumer electronic devices.

According to 3M, the company’s Patterned Transparent Conductors make it possible for engineers to meet consumers’ increasingly demanding design requirements. Today’s touch screen devices must be lighter and thinner, with increased capabilities that feature larger display sizes and state-of-the-art touch functionality. The Patterned Transparent Conductors offer sheet resistance that is
orders of magnitude lower than current ITO-based products, on a flexible polyester substrate that can support today’s demanding consumer electronics touch sensor appearance and performance
requirements. The resulting systems can offer fast, accurate projected capacitive sensing over the entire display service in a stylish, functional and reliable package.

“The extension to 3M’s family of Transparent Conductors supports our strategy of providing consumer electronics designers and engineers a range of materials options in this area,” said Bret Haldin, business development manager at 3M Electronics Markets Materials Division. “These products can help meet industry requirements driven by the increased use of antennas and projected capacitive touch systems.”

Haldin went on to state that the Patterned Transparent Conductors combine many of the advantages of glass-based projected capacitive sensors, such as fine conductive feature width and low sheet resistance, with the thinness and weight advantages of a film-based material.

3M™ Novec™ Engineered Fluids can be used "neat" to remove light hydrocarbon and silicone oils. As highly-fluorinated compounds, Novec fluids are ideal for cleaning halogenated oils and greases. These solvents function effectively in the removal of particulate from components and final assemblies. And, when needed, Novec 71IPA fluid (an azeotropic blend of HFE and isopropyl alcohol) offers increased solvency while maintaining excellent materials compatibility.

Slurry coated chrome oxide mineral in 0.5 micron on 3 mil polyester backing. Chrome oxide is used for final finishing of magnetic audio and video tape heads. Chrome oxide aids the final polishing of bi or tri-metal substrates used in magnetic heads.

254X TR3 Discs

Slurry coated aluminum oxide on 2 mil polyester film backing. Available in 1 and 2 micron. Product was designed for carbon buff application on thin film memory disks. Can also be used in disc form for lapping metal substrates.

261X Discs

The standard of 3M's lapping films. Precisely graded aluminum oxide particles coated on a 3 mil polyester film produce uniform fine finishes. Available in discs in 0.3, 3, 5, 9, 12, and 30 micron grades.

262X TF Rolls

Slurry coated aluminum oxide on a 3 mil polyester film backing in grades 1 and 2 micron. Product is typically supplied in sheets and/or discs and is used in polishing fiber optics as well as precision lapping operations.

A single grade product coated on a 3 mil backing for the final step in polishing fiber optic ceramic connectors. Similar to 869X with higher mineral resin ratio, providing easier breakdown and faster polish. PSA product sold in disc form.
