You need to change the one selection box you didn't try in the video - Electrical Type. Try passive, this removes the 'arrows'.

I did try that, and it does remove the arrows.  Actually this is how these parts were originally configured (i.e. with all their pins configured as "passive")

However, when you compile a project containing components that have tons of passive pins, you will end up with a whack-load of warnings telling you a net has a Input Pin without a driving source, as well as other errors related to nets connecting passive pins to other types of pins.

Changing the electrical type of a pin is not an acceptable workaround for this display issue

So, is there a way to hide these symbols without changing the pin's electrical type?

Go to Tab Error Reporting  in the Project Options and in the section Violations Associated with Nets set Nets with No Driving Source  to "No Report".

Then you can leave all pins passive.

I guess I do care about leaving the warnings entact.

They are there for a reason, right?

I think you may have to accept this is just the way the software works. Agreed it would be nicer if the graphics was separate from the electrical property so I've submitted this as a suggestion to Altium.
