Is anyone getting this error repeatedly when accessing the Altium Content Vault?

Yes, and I also get this sometimes (seems to depend upon the component).

I can start Vault and place a component, but eventually a dialogue screen opens titled "Information", and when the progress bar is complete CS always crashes.

The forums suggest that Vault is a bit flakey, and taking it slowly to allow the files to fully load helps, but I find Vault always crashes CS eventually. I can't find a workaround so I'm just sticking to editing the local libraries (not 100% trouble free, but stable).

I just put it down as a bug they can't be bothered fixing while CS slowly fades away and dies, which is a shame because the core of CS - schematic capture and PCB layout - seem fine.

All ok while not using the Vault - version 1.5.2 (build 30) - latests these days.

While grabbing a component from Vault into curren schematic capture sheet, after a few seconds, this come into focus:

    Then this:

Ignoring the exception (not pressing OK) would still alow you to use the CS main window for a few seconds (sometimes). Then both the Vault and the CS window crashes.

I have observed this at the point where I activated my license on a newer computer - having one month left of support at that point and hoping it is just a access denial issue, I have just acquired my Renewal of 12 months, hoping this should fix this behavior. Well, it doesn't.

I have reinstalled, reconfigured a number of options, both on a Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines, same result - it crashes. Everything use to work fine on a similar machine on Windows 10 a few months ago.

I have acquired the 12 months Renewal for two reasons: the Vault (although I tried editing the local libraries this is not inline with the time I have alocated for HW design and I am counting on the Vault support) and hopefully for the Circuit Maker PRO upgrade.

I don't know what happened, but a few days before while I was trying the same thing (using the vault as explained above), I was pleasantly surprised to see that CircuitStudio no longer crashes and everything runs nice and smooth. No clue what happened, but it just works -

    I have Windows 11 updated (05/14/22), and CircuitStudio version 1.5.2 (build 30) -

    Issue solved: thanks allot.

Just out of curiosity, when you open the Vault explorer and hit the search tab in the lower left pane, how long does it take before you gain control again?  Then, once you put in a search term and hit search, how long before it retrieves the first items?

When the Vault is stable (very seldom now), it takes several minutes or more before the entire CS screen has control again.  Then it takes minutes more for the first search return.  After that, it's quite usable but lately has been crashing frequently.

My guess on your success is that perhaps Win11 has made some changes, whether in protocol, system calls, etc.  If CS code were poorly implemented, it may have limped by previously but perhaps now, Win11 is more tolerant of "something" that CS violates.

It takes my computer ~40 seconds once I hit the search tab to gain control again and 3-4 seconds to get back with the parameter that I searched.

Thanks.  There is definitely something causing it to get lost in my system.  I may try a re-install but in general don't believe in them.
