Bitscope stuff

There is some info in here about the Bitscope saga but my BS10 mini won't connect and I'd like to repair the thing. Is there a schematic available anywhere for the Mini. I thought I saw schematics on the original Bitscope site and I think I may have downloaded those but apparently my filing system is so secure that I can't find any downloads I may have made. I may have found the issue but I can't identify the IC I think is causing the problem without a schematic.

Linux AMD64 BitScope Chart & Meter Binaries Say Expired

I dug my Bitscope BS-50 out of a bag and tried to get it going again. The Linux AMD64 DSO binary looks to work on Ubuntu 24 after using --force-depends and manually installing the dependencies which now have a different name.

The bitscope-chart and bitscope-meter binaries say they have expired though. I guess they were time limited betas. Are there any unexpired versions available anywhere, or possibly the source code itself?

Presumably this hardware isn't really supported any more, but it was a handy device when I could get it to work.

Bitscope install under LM22.2 missing libpango1.0-0

Under Linux Mint 22.2 libpango1.0-0 is no longer available (it is renamed libpango-1.0-0) which causes the installation to fail. You can download the earlier version from here: https://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/p/pango1.0/ and install using the package manager. There is a long list of similarly named files. I used the amd64 version for my installation. Remove any failed bitscope installation first and reinstall after installing libpango1.0-0

Has anyone got a copy of the BitScope files for the raspberries?

Waveform generator limitations

I have linked the analog output to the analog input as part of testing and getting to know the Bitscope Micro. When generating lower-end frequencies (sine wave in this case) the received waveform is quite clean.

However when setting the frequency to the top of the range, it looks like some harmonics are being introduced. Also when using square waves, there is considerable overshoot on the transitions.

Therefore, is there some practical limit to the frequency the waveform generator can be used to get 'clean' waveforms?

Alternatively, am I just seeing a poorly compensated 'probe' (especially with the square wave)? If that is gthe case, is there a way to adjust the probe compensation (as there is typically with a 'normal' DSO probe)?

Does BitScope not support macOS anymore?

The currently published versions of BitScope DSO (bitscope-dso_2.8.FE22H.app.tgz and bitscope-dso_2.9.V23KG6ZT.app.tgz) both seem to be 32-bit apps which do not run on current macOS versions (see https://support.apple.com/HT208436 )

Is macOS not supported by BitScope anymore?

I want to generate a single wave pulse with a certain frequency but not a continuous wave. is that possible? if yes how do I achieve it with bitscope micro Bs05?

The following blog post mentioned a new BitScpoe product that was described as likely to be available at about the same time as the Raspberry Pi PoE Hat (now available...):

There was very little detail in the post apart from one CAD diagram with Bi3B+ in situ.

Is there any more detail? I was hoping that it could accept a PoE directly without an external splitter and utilise Bitscope board's more robust power management and breakout several more 5V feeds in addition to the Pi3B+'s USB ports which the new Raspi Foundation new PoE board wont do as far as I can see.
