Thanks for posting all the links and info. Lot's of good info here and I'll wade through as much as I can to find some answers. Found some schematics here and from a link that popped up to Silvertone Electronics also in Australia. They had/have some Bitscope products still on their site and also had a good amount of documentation. I must have one of the latest versions of the BS10 Mini as none of the pics match the version I have. As I browse through some of the pics I can see the evolution of the product. Two pics are attached with three components outlined in the lower left corner of pic #1. The SOT23-5 component has an A0P or AOP marking and only the A(zero)P shows up in my old SMD Identification catalog as a 'voltage monitor/detection' chip. This thing is roasting hot over 200 degrees F with an IR cam, plugged in with no activity and no connection. The two associated resistors are both less that half of the marked values. I can replace the resistors but I need to positively identify the 5 pin to get a replacement. I'm not sure how much time I'll spend trying to get the thing to work again, but once I attack the board for component replacement that time might get shortened in a hurry. Thanks again.

Forum Post: RE: Bitscope stuff

in addition, here ( https://opentracelab.github.io/website/hardware/mixed-signal-devices/bitscope-bs10/#schematics ) there are pretty good photos of the PCB with part numbers generally visible (if some badly damaged part needs to be identified)

Forum Post: RE: Bitscope stuff

Wow - complete schematic from 2000 ! tm_stump has all the info to fix it if they can get the bits - hope its not the the LSI1016 that's gone - they were made obsolete in 2010. It may still be obtainable. The design is very dated now - possibly not worth a great deal of effort because there are cheap micros that can out-perform it. I ask because in 2018 I used this same Pi with a Bitscope, as my oscilloscope and logic analyzer. I can't find a version today that works. I also had used a Windows 10 computer, that also worked fine and had DSO V2.8 running. Never removed it from the computer and now it won't display traces properly; I suspect the many "software upgrades" that Micro$oft has had me install, has broken something that allowed the Bitscope to display just fine. The Bitscope itself was alway handled using proper ESD handling and stored in a ESD type bag. My bet it there are others out there with this or similar problems.
