How do you rapid prototype in DIN rail environment?

Suppose you are working on a an electrical installation which is DIN rail mounted, how do you modify and adapt it? Could be tricky.

CamdenBoss has a simple enclosure called CVB225 (Camden Vertical Box, 22.5mm wide) which now has a tailor-made prototyping board available:

DIN Rail prototyping made easy with CamdenBoss enclosure CVB225

CVB225 and CVB450 are vertically mounting DIN rail enclosures from CamdenBoss, the UK’s leading supplier of electromechanical components and enclosures.

CVB225 is a slim 22.5mm enclosure, CVB450 offers a deeper solution at 45mm.

CamdenBoss has opened this product range to the world of rapid prototyping with the  introduction of a purpose built prototyping PCB, part number CVBMSC.

Electronic components can be mounted on the main area of the board on array of 748 holes of 1mm diameter at 2.54mm, making connections by hard wire.

Serving the three openings on the box, two 8-way and one 12-way rows - spaced at 5mm pitch - can accommodate connectors such as PCB- and pluggable terminal blocks.

Included with the CVB225 and CVB450 is a set of blanking plates which allow unused apertures to be closed off as required.

Ideal for use with the CVB225 and CVB450 is CamdenBoss’s pluggable terminal block system. CTB9350/8 for example is an 8-way, 5mm pitch, 90 degree header rated at 12A and 320V. This can be mated with a female plug such as CTB92VG/8S. This provides a simple method of connecting and disconnecting up to 8 poles to two sides and 12 poles to the third.

The CVB225 kit is available to order with or without prototyping PCB CVBMSC so that once the PCB design has been established, PCBs can be manufactured separately.

To order CVB225 with blanking plates and the CVBMSC use part number CVB225/KIT/PCB.
To order the enclosure without the PCB use CVB225/KIT.
To order additional PCBs use CVBMSC .
