From the screenshot it's not clear if this is an issue with the code on the PSoC or your setup on the PC. There's quite a few layers of interaction between the top-level Python code, down to the interaction with the microcontroller. If you're using code copied from that PDF, then it's a bit unreasonable to expect it to work without some changes, because the student will have just taken a snapshot of code for the purpose of completing the essay, and not necessarily at the same time for the different elements of that project. As it is, it's impossible for anyone else to identify the problem for you without running the code themselves (which is a bit much to ask for - who is going to install all this on a PSoC and their PC?
