Visual and tactile raised mating indicators are present on the plug and receptacle to aid the mating operation in dark or concealed conditions. In addition, a tactile and audible click confirms correct mating engagement guaranteeing secure locking.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The HR41A is optimised for easy field assembly. The waterproof gasket and cable can be clamped and sealed in one simultaneous step. The crimps can be easily and reliably terminated with the crimp hand tool. The push-on bayonet lock eliminates screw tightening and torque management saving even more time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The sequential contact structure ensures the ground contact is connected before the power and signal contacts during the mating process to ensure safety. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span lang="en-US" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The light weight housing is robust and resistant to harsh environmental conditions and resistant to 15kV lightning surges. A slim profile plug (DF59S) or a ultra slim profile plug (DF59SN) are available. The receptacle is not moulded to significantly reduce the depth profile to minimise board space. The low mated height profile is only 1.18mm (DF59S) and 1.2mm (DF59SN). The receptacle is common for both plug types and features a friction lock that provides a positive tactile sensation and an audible click when mated. This confirms the connector is fully engaged guaranteeing complete electrical and mechanical connection.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;font-size:9pt;"&gt;An additional feature of the board-to-board version is a unique 3-Axis floating structure. This permits movement of &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;font-size:9pt;text-decoration:underline;"&gt;+&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;font-size:9pt;"&gt; 0.5mm in X and Y directions, and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;font-size:9pt;text-decoration:underline;"&gt;+&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;font-size:9pt;"&gt; 0.2mm in Z direction to compensate for any tolerances during the mating process. The DF59M receptacle has a different design to the DF59S/SN receptacle, however the PCB layout has a double footprint so that both receptacles can be mounted on to the same PCB pattern. The crimp plug features an enhanced 3-point contact with a spring feature to ensure high contact reliability. The positive lock feature provides 16N (Newton’s) of lock retention force to ensure a secure connection that is confirmed by an audible tactile click to ensure correct engagement. This allows an alignment movement in XY directions of +/- 0.6mm minimum (max) to absorb mounting misalignment, vibration and dimensional errors when mated.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;High speed transmission of up to 6 Gbps (max) is supported by the innovative contact design to ensure impedance matching. The ground contacts are situated between the adjacent differential pair contacts to reduce crosstalk for better performance.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The connector has a hybrid structure featuring power and signal contacts. Four built-in power contacts that can carry up to 3A (Amps) current rating each are located along the mating guides to save space. The signal contacts can carry 0.5A each.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;By using a PCB thickness of 1.6mm the top and bottom sides of a PCB can be utilised to mount the FX23 series. This is due to the design of the single metal post that does not protrude out to the other side of the PCB allowing space saving. The signal contacts are crimp style which are easily inserted into a separate crimp housing which is then inserted into the main connector body. The power contacts are easily connected to the cables using a standard crimp contact and standard (M8) screw. Each contact beam has a different vibration characteristic due to different contact forces that widens the frequency range to avoid resonance. Furthermore the first beam contact has a self-cleaning function which eliminates dust from the contact path of the second beam contact. The short &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;mounting depth is only 3.08mm which is one of the world’s smallest mounting depths for a Back-Flip connector. The low height profile is a mere 0.65mm. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Although compact in size the connector is easy to mount on the PCB with double sided contacts. The fully enclosed molded housing structure conceals the exposure of contacts on the bottom face of the connector allowing &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;conductive traces to run underneath the connector. Solder wicking is prevented by the application of a nickel barrier on the contacts to prevent the travel of solder into the mating contact area.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The insertion of the FPC is user friendly due to the presence of the wide housing entry and tapered contacts that allow the FPC to be inserted from a steeper upright angle, this allows other components to be placed closer to the connector entrance. In addition, it is also possible to insert the FPC horizontally due to the innovative side-catches that have been designed with a curved surface to permit correct positioning of the FPC. When the FPC travels over the side-catches an audible and tactile click confirms correct mating. For additional security, a special cut out in the housing allows a visual check to verify the FPC is positioned correctly. A high FPC retention force of 7.25N&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;(31 position, horizontal direction) is achieved due to the inclusion of metal fittings situated internally on each side of the housing to hold the FPC tabs firmly in place.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;padding:0px;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;The unique shape of the contacts support FPC retention by applying pressure on to the FPC to further increase the retention. This confirms the connector is fully engaged guaranteeing complete electrical and mechanical connection. The lock is on the centre of the housing to avoid uneven locking and cable entanglement which is common with side locks.
