Microchip Serial SRAM Products

Traditionally, there have been two ways to increase an application’s access to RAM, use a larger microcontroller with more RAM or use an external parallel RAM that ties up 16-20 I/O. Microchip’s Serial SRAM in small, 8-pin packages uses an SPI interface (only requires 4 I/O) and offers the flexibility to add RAM to a design without the disadvantages of using a large micro or parallel RAM. Microchip currently offers 64K-Bit and 256K-Bit devices operating at up to 20MHz.
