.187 Faston receptacle terminal using Bright Tin plating?

Does anyone know if TE Connectivity sells a .187 Faston receptacle terminal using Bright Tin plating, fits a .02 " ( or .5mm) tab for 16 wire gauge? I am noticing that companies are using Bright Tin or Bright Nickel plated terminals for a tea kettle that I want to repair. The particular.187 Faston receptacle is for the kettle power cord. Those terminals are also magnetic I discovered, so they could be Nickel plated. I could not find a .187 Faston terminal with Nickel plated that will fit a 0.5mm without it being adjusted which fits too loose.

I cannot find any description of the status bits at bit 14 and 15 in the reply. What do they mean?

The only thing I could find was some code comment online:

I have been working with our folks internally to ID what we can do about this particular part from Ditek which is non-UL compliant.\\

Ditek DTK-240HW. The alternative is part DTK-120/240HW which is a larger component.

Basically, the other components offered by Ditek that are UL compliant are too large to fit in our panel design and we are looking for alternatives.

The existing part is roughly 2” square and the replacement item is 5” square – too large to fit in the panel.

Have you any suggestions on what we may want to consider using as an alternative?

Scenario:

I am new to most of the industrial related PCB making and I need to know which connectors can I use for Wire to Board connections.

I need a 20 Core wire (preferably a Ribbon) to communicate between a PCB1 and PCBn in series.

I have looked through a few connectors (receptacle and header both) and am thinking of using the ones below:

3. Whether the ribbon cable can be attache to the receptacle using crimps? If not, how do I connect the ribbon cables to the receptacle?

Sorry i am late to reply.... Fist, thanks for your reply.. As Nate and Clem told i tried with both steps ie, with powered USB hub and without ethernet cable. But still i got same result. and i executed the command "route -n" to check default gateway. There i was getting only ip address for destination and not for GateWay for ppp0. Will it be a cause for my problem? ??? Do i need to add default gateway for ppp0???

I am trying to get internet connection form usb 3g dongle for Raspberry pi 2 B. I have tried with wvdial.conf and usb_modeswitch.conf. I have got ip address from ppp0 but i am not getting internet connection. and even i tried with sakis3g, here also same result and no internet connection. Below i have pasted my configurations. Nate1616is right. I noticed you have eth0 active:

When I was testing this I realized that you should not be connected to the internet (i.e. via eth0) when modem connection is initiated. For some reason RPi would not get proper DNS even if you disconnect eth0 after you connect with the modem, so: first disconnect your lan cable and then connect.

Typically a powered usb hub is required for those devices. I know its trivial but have you tried a powered Hub? I had a similar issue in the past with a 3g dongle and it was just not getting enough juice to run. Automatic control of the GPRS Internet connection.

Hi,

Sometimes the GPRS internet network is doing restrts and my router is unable to recover it unless it is powered off and then again on.

Looking to use single 250V/2A(any) AC relay with RasberryPi to programm RasberryPi to send signal to relay to disconnect the AC load(external GPRS router) and connect it back after 6 seconds if RasberryPi will detect that there is no Internet connection available on its RJ45 ethernet port?

What I bought from here (86W4646) is on the left and what I need is on the right. This connector has on it "BICC - VERO" and is on a 1992 year machine Swiss made. The pin size is the same but after the pin on (86W4646) is .110" and on the connector I need is .100" the big difference is the length where the pin locks in the connector. I would really like to get the right pin connector so not to redo the whole block or to make two hook ups (I could buy a 9 or more pin connector and use that and the old block having two hook ups not the one I have now) I don't want to do that but may have to....

Along with TE’s recently announced black zinc nickel plating, this new coating further expands TE’s response to new environmental regulations that reduce the use of cadmium. The nickel PTFE plating is Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) qualified, and offers the same level of electrical performance, harsh environment protection and temperature ranges as cadmium finishes.

TE Connectivity Launches New, Simplified Hermaphroditic Connectors

-- Low-profile board-to-board and wire-to-board connectors install easily and are ideal for various lighting applications --

DARMSTADT, Germany – 04 September, 2014 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, announces its low-profile, surface-mount technology (SMT), miniature hermaphroditic connectors. The connectors are designed to provide power between adjacent linear LED lighting strip modules and enable faster and more efficient connections, by allowing customers to mate and unmate linear LED modules strips horizontally and vertically.

“The SMT miniature hermaphroditic connectors allow LED-printed circuit board strips to be joined with more flexibility than with traditional pin and socket SMT headers,” says Alex Hunt III, product manager, TE Intelligent Buildings. “The hermaphroditic design minimizes part number inventory, lowers production costs and simplifies the LED printed circuit board layout.”

The connectors are available in two-, four- and six-position hermaphroditic versions for lighting, data and control connections. The low-profile connectors were designed with rounded corners to minimize LED light obstruction, flat-top surfaces for vacuum pickup, and high-temperature material for reflow processing. The hermaphroditic connectors are also available with a one-position blade and receptacle for narrow width spacing on LED printed circuit board applications.

TE’s 3 A, 300 VAC/DC rated connectors operate at temperatures between minus 40 degrees C and 105 degrees C with a 1600 VAC dielectric withstanding voltage rating. The connectors’ housings feature UL 94V0 rated high-temperature resistant thermoplastic material, and contacts are constructed using a high-conductivity copper alloy with tin-over-nickel plating.

“The two-position wire-to-board insert molded lead assembly is designed to be secured with double-sided, thermally conductive tape,” says Mr. Hunt III. “This eliminates the need for latching features or hardware that would increase the overall height and width of the power connection to the linear LED module strip.”

The SMT miniature hermaphroditic connectors are best used in applications for architectural and sign lighting, retail and display lighting, fluorescent LED retrofit lighting, cabinet and furniture lighting, and commercial and residential cove lighting.

The newly expanded, easy-to-install M8/M12 connector system offers design engineers a reliable and complete solution to decrease downtime in industrial environments and supports higher bandwidth needs, meeting the requirements of up to 10 Gb/s.
The new system includes an extensive range of board and field installable connectors, cable assemblies and IO boxes. TE Connectivity introduces the EVC 250 main contactor (EVC 250), a next generation product specifically designed for use in hybrid, full-electric and fuel cell vehicles, as well as in vehicle charging systems. The EVC 250 contactor works without pressurized contact chambers.

The new EVC 250 features larger contact gaps, optimized switching dynamics, high performance arc suppressing magnets and other measures to effectively control the switching arc. The contactor achieves continuous current ratings of 250A which ensures a safe short circuit carry capability of 6kA and complies with the demanding switching requirements in hybrid and electric vehicles. Service replacement due to pressure loss or gas leaking is no longer necessary.

This innovative design allows for compact dimensions of only 93 x 55.3 x 49.8mm (3.7 x 2.2 x 2.0”). Due to the contactor’s simplified construction, with optimized parts, the EVC 250 can allow for a fully automated production. In addition to the standard version with separate coils for pull-in and hold with automatic, internal switch, a second version with single coil for pulsed excitation (PWM) is also available. The EVC 250 fulfills the insulation requirements of IEC 60664.

The high-speed multiple I/O connector receptacle is only 7.52mm wide, the same width as a standard Micro USB 2.0 receptacle, and comes with various pin position options such as 5+4 and 5+8 to meet the customer’s need for speed, video and power. The product provides several industry-defining, value-added features, including higher speed from USB 3.0 (5Gbps) up to USB 3.1 (10Gbps), economical power delivery (rapid charging with a 3A battery charger at one-third the standard USB 2.0 charging time and 2A additional power over four optional additional pins), and external video display connectivity including Mobility DisplayPort[emoticon:7d377b609b6f44bf9290e3d8a0b9a733] (MyDP) and MHL[emoticon:6abd1cb2558648488dbea31d006afc59] (Mobile High-Definition Link) capability.
