I did a similar project with an accurate Würth sensor that could discriminate 3 inch changes in altitude:

I am still looking for known elevations to test its accuracy over greater heights.

Nice post.

Getting barometric altitude can be tricky.

Pilots had to set their altimeters to the local known altitude before take off to compensate for various atmospheric affects on pressure.

Interesting story. Was your measurement exposed to outside air or only interior air? Most buildings have positive pressure inside (higher than exterior pressure) so your readings might show different elevation due to interior air pressure???
