XP Power has released the new LDU series of non-isolated DC-DC LED drivers. The LDU offers from 300mA – 1000mA constant current outputs for applications up to 24W. The series has an input range of 7-30 VDC with an output of 2-28 VDC. This non-isolated step down converter series requires the input to be a minimum of 2V above the output voltage. The current output can be adjusted from 25% to 100% using a variable resistor, dc voltage, or PWM signal via the control pin. Housed in tiny plastic DIP packages, they measure only 0.80 x 0.40 0.27” (20.32 x 10.16 x 6.88mm) for the LDU08 and 0.92 x 0.55 x 0.40” (23.40 x 14.00 x 10.16mm) for the LDU24. They have 95% efficiency and include both open and short circuit LED protection.
