Cool beans JC. I don't trust these cad bulk libraries. Is there a recommended footprint from the mfg?

Your 3d model looks nothing like the connector and has a through hole pin?

Not directly related to the blog, but part of the SMA connector documentation: this is how it's expected to be mounted:

It's a solderless device, with a spring powered centre pin. Designed to be used on very thin copper layers without damaging it.

Where did you find the KiCad RC1 build? The site mentions nightlies page, but I can't find it there:
