I was also wondering if there is (I mean, if also this version is open-source, as we though initially when worked on the very first PI...
RasPi has never been open-source hardware. It took ages to get schematics of the original RasPi Model B 1.0, and we've never seen Gerbers of any of the RasPi PCBs.
thanks for the replay. Things from the first version are evolved and the closure too. if you take a look to this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55777&p=422729 you see what I mean. When I worked in the first development team around the PI first release, excluding - obviously - the inside-chip features most of the parts were not covered by any sort of protecion and anyway well documented. Now things seems to me a bit more commercial and as a matter of fact it seems impossible for example that someone decide to keep the PI2 information and make his own board based on this design then adding or changing something more.
For me is not a problem, it is only a consideration.
