I would like to make B+ as the heart of our Universal Instrumentation and Control Module as a Lab kit for educational application which will be specifically built to interface various sensors, actuators and other measurement modules to perform experimentation and demonstrate basic to advanced control modes in classroom.

My son is a big fan of Raspberry Pi. He is 14 years old and he loves to make projects with the Raspberry Pi. He would make a robot, with the Raspberry Pi camera, and remote control with the iPad. The new board is an improvement to the old one, because he needs to connect a few modules. It is also great to have 4 usb ports, because when you connect a usb keyboard for programming, and a usb mouse, you have already used the two ports. We live in Belgium, so we weren't in London to get a free ice cream with extra raspberry. I hope that my son can program soon with the new Raspberry Pi B+.

- Atmospheric pressure sensor,

- Humidity sensor,

- Wind strength and direction sensor based on the optical encoders.

The sensors will be connected to Raspberry Pi board.

COMMUNITY PHONE
A friend recently gifted me an antique bakelite phone. Similar to this one:

I want to turn it into a community phone, to stand by the door of our house.
pi+internet connection+speech synthesizer+voice recognition = interactive communal bulletin board service, inter-user messaging, and who knows what else.

We wish to create a device that can interface with a cellphone for the deaf-blind to use through braille. It can translate voice to braille also. Having more IO and low power will help a lot in controlling all those braille pins and make it last long respectively.

My project is a battery powered, bat box, sound, video, temperature, and presence, data logger using a USB memory stick for data storage. The Ethernet connection unloads data when connected. A display and keyboard control the setup.

We would use the new Raspberry PI to release DTVKit our open source TV software to the Universities and developers who would like to build Digital TV onto Raspberry Pi, we also intend building an open source Tuner Board to match with Raspberry Pi as well as using a USB Tuner..

My project would be: pair the Raspberry Pi with a Camera Board and place it in my parents bird aviary

timelapse the birth of new parakeet and /or cockatiel babies during nesting season;
monitor the daily on-goings in the bird aviary (doubles also for security purposes);
send/recieve data via wireless adapter.
