Hi 14ers,

This is an update on the VCR PI project

Since my last post, I have acquired the following for my project

4 - 4-head stereo VCRs ( 1 ea Panasonic, Sanyo, JVC, and Toshiba ). I decided to go with different brands for the following reasons:

- These were the only brands I could get a thrift store cheap ( < $10 per unit ) at the time

- I can use different IR remote signals to control each VCR separately (a good thing if one records a program

at different speeds , or you have tape of varying program length. )

1 Pi 2 - (Big thanks to Element 14 )

RCA AV cables for the above.

5 USB capture boxes for the above VCRs ( 1 plextor , 2 ads tech dvd express, 1 generic (just says "tvbox" )

All "seem" to work

Now here is a question that I have for all 14ers reading this blog -

what video format file format should I consider storing my videos in to optimize video quality while at the same time minimizing drive space ?
