Actually, I was able to follow-along and understand what you did (mistakes and all: part of the learning process). AAR (At Any Rate) having been a EE then a Unix Administrator in Previous Life(s) helped. Also I have played w/ PUTTY (SSH Client) on a RPi 1B (running MiniBian). I have One Question though: Q1: What is WSPR[Pi]? Something to do w/ Audio? Again, a great post. Great background. Great pictures.
