New Pi 2's won't boot from microSD card?

starksm64

I took a a Pidora image that I have running on a Raspberry Pi B and put it onto an 8Gb microSD card from Kingston. I checked the image by booting up the Pi B from it in an adapter card. I have two Pi 2's, and when I try to boot them up, I see the red and green light flash on for a bit, then the green light goes out, while the read led stays on. There is no HDMI output during the initial flash of the green light. I have tried a couple different power supplies, the largest one providing 5V and 1A.

I'm not sure what else to try at this point other than trying another boot image once I get another microSD card.

Any suggestions?

I found a 5V 2A power supply and tried that with the same result, so it does not seem to be a power supply issue.

I would suggest getting one of the latest images and putting that onto an SD card. Raspbian seems to be updated more frequently than Pidora. If you can get it to boot then you can be fairly confident that your hardware is ok.

Not all SD cards are created equal. I would try a different card.

Thanks, I reformatted the card and installed the NOOBS netboot and that is at least booting to the install screen, although there is a problem resizing the partition, but at least I know the board is fine. At least I have something to work with now.

    Thanks
