Color Gradient Displays in Upper right of screen occasionally.

Question

Hi All,

I have a new B+ with a Wolfson audio card that I was using yesterday. Occasionally the color gradient graphic would flash on the upper right of the screen. What does this mean? Overheating? Network activity?

I was playing Audio from my USB drive through the Wolfson/Pi.

Any thoughts?

It means the brownout detector has detected an undervoltage on the 5V, that is it dropped below 4.65V.

The rainbow warning can be turned off

A similar but fully red square means you have overclocked, but the system is slowing down, because the SoC reached a temperature of 85 degrees Celsius.
