Christmas Lights synced with music

I am a raspberry pi first timer and I want to do a raspberry pi hook up with Christmas lights and music. I need detailed instructions. Can anybody provide some good instructions?

However, note that they are interfacing directly with mains power which is not advised for a complete beginner. Instead, if you want to control
mains, use something wireless like this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/controlling-electrical-sockets-with-energenie-pi-mote/
Information on sequencing timed to music is here: Raspberry Pi Christmas Tree Light Show : Load/Create music, software, sequences....
It is possible to just create low voltage christmas lights which are safer. See here for an example: Raspberry Pi enabled Christmas Lights
